Public Comments
The Franklin County Board of Education has provided time in its agenda for individuals to make comments. Comments to the Board will be allowed up to a maximum of three (3) minutes. The Board does not allow comments on any matter dealing with personnel issues. Kentucky law states specifically that personnel matters are the responsibility of the Superintendent. On all personnel matters, you should contact the Superintendent of Schools. No questions, comments, or decisions/action related to public comments will be made by Board members at this time, unless the specific topic is on the agenda; however, the Board will listen to the comments and/or suggestions which may lead to a discussion of same at a future meeting. If an individual wishes for the Board to discuss and/or take action on a particular issue, they must follow the procedures outlined in Franklin County Board of Education Policy 10.2. The Superintendent or the designee will be able to assist in this request.

Approval of Wiring Contract
In preparation for our wireless upgrade for all elementary schools this summer, cabling must be run into each classroom in order for the wireless access points to connect to the network.
Proposals were sought from several vendors on approved state bid lists, and Pomeroy had the best proposal.

Contract bluegrass.org Room Assignments
For the past seven years we have been providing space for therapists employed by Comprehensive Care to meet with their clients at school. According to the principals, students have benefited from in-school therapy so we want to continue this collaborative arrangement.

Contract bluegrass.org Mental Health Consultation
Contract with Bluegrass Regional Health-Mental Retardation Board, Inc. to provide mental health consultation services.

Contract Insight Psychological Consultant
According to State and Federal guidelines, parents have the option of requesting an independent evaluation at no cost to them if they disagree with our evaluation. This contract will allow us to meet State and Federal guidelines. The funding for this service will come from IDEA Part B Basic.

Western Hills would like to request permission to sell spirit wear at Kroger via Ohiopyle Prints, Inc.. The company will set up and handle all sales of school clothing, in return the school receives 7% of the profits. Attached is the contract with Ohiopyle Prints, Inc for your approval.

BPE Copier Lease
Bridgeport Elementary requests Board approval to enter into a new lease agreement with Commonwealth Technology beginning July 1, 2016 for 3 copiers. The current lease ends June 30, 2016. Mr. Breckel reviewed and approved the lease agreements.

WRE Miller transportation contract approval
Westridge Elementary School requests approval of the attached contract with Miller Transportation. Miller will provide buses to Kings Island on May 25th for the fifth grade trip. The cost is $1410 and will be paid from school activity funds and the participating students.

Dance Team Coach
EMS would request the creation of a Dance Team coaching position for 2015-2016. The stipend for this position would be $1,100 and will be paid from the board created Sweep account and funded by student fundraisers and donations.

VIII.E.1.
WHHS Senior Trip - Kings Island
Western Hills Class of 2016 requests permission to take a senior trip on Friday May 27th to Kings Island. The participating students will pay $41 per person, which provides them with an ID bracelet for free drinks and admission. The senior class activity funds will pay for transportation, provided by Franklin County transportation department. Only seniors who have met graduation requirements are permitted to attend. Departure is at 8:00 am and the students will leave the park at 7 PM.
There are currently 50 students signed up to attend with 2 chaperones (teachers). We ensure an average of an 1 to 25 ratio on staff supervision.

WRE Kings Island Trip
Westridge Elementary fifth grade is requesting approval for a trip to King's Island on May 25th. Students will be paying the cost for the transportation, admission, and food. Students who may need assistance, will be provided help from the fifth grade student activity funds.

Approve Summer Camps
VIII.F.1.
BMS Fundraiser/Summer Camp
Bondurant Middle School is requesting permission to hold a week-long middle school Minecraft Camp. The charge will be $150 per student, which includes a $10 t-shirt charge. The camp will be held at Bondurant Middle School in the computer lab or library and will be overseen by Leigh Kuhn, media specialist. There must be a minimum enrollment of 12 student and a maximum of 25. The date of the camp will be determined based on computer availability and volunteer availability. The camp will be held from 8:00 - 4:00 with an early drop-off/late pick-up available for an extra charge. This camp was provided last year at Bondurant and parents are already calling to see if it is available again this year. The profits will be used to incorporate new Makerspaces in the Bondurant Library.

WHHS Dance Camp
The Western Hills Dance Team would like to request permission to host a dance camp for students ages K-8th grade. The cost would be $55 per camper who would receive a t-shirt, photo, and lunch each day. Dates and times of the camp from July 11-July 14 from 8 until noon. Chaperones would be the dance coach, Stephanie Wooldridge, and the team. Profits would go to the needs of the 2016-17 dance team.
