Ms. Jones will share the schedule for the AdvancEd Accreditation on March 22 - 25.

Ms. Jones will share an accelerated early learning program which connects school and home via mobile technology. This is simply to orient board members to the program.

Distribution of 2013-2015 District Savings
Franklin County Schools ended the 2013-2014 with an unanticipated savings of $1,400,000. There have been requests for the distribution of these funds. Below I have outlined my recommendation:
District Technology - $450,000 (District Strategic Plan, with potential impact in all FCPS classrooms )
Thinking Strategies - $100,000 (District Strategic Plan/CDIP, with potential impact in all FCPS classrooms)
Western Hills Band - $172,000 - 78% of requested funds
Franklin County Band - $160,000 - 78% of requested funds
Bondurant Middle Band - $48,000 - 94% of requested funds
Elkhorn Middle Band - $69,500 - 94% of requested funds
Total - $999,500
Remaining Funds - $400,500
Approve the distribution of funds

BPE Fundraiser
Bridgeport Elementary K Kids Club requests approval from the Board to hold a Bake Sale at end of March (before Spring Break) and a car wash (after Spring Break) on a Saturday using the school parking lot. Funds raised will be for club projects.

Approve Contracts

PEBC (Thinking Strategies)
Attached is a contract for PEBC staff to spend four days in classrooms of teachers within the district who have participated in the Thinking Strategies training. The expert staff members will provide feedback to the district in regards to the current implementation of Thinking Strategies as well as suggestions to continue to propel the implementation forward.
Funding for the contract and travel will be provided from Title I, Title II, and Professional Development funds.

SBDM Request a Change in Classified Hours
The Western Hills SBDM Council has requested a change in classified hours for the following positions.
Bookkeeper
The SBDM had approved this position for 8 hours per day. At the February 3, 2015 meeting, the SBDM approved to change hours to 7.5 per day.
Counselor's Secretary - The SBDM had approved for 7.5 hours per day. At the January 6, 2015 meeting, the SBDM approved to change to 8 hours per day.

Approval of Overnight Trip and/or Out-of-State Trip

BMS KUNA overnight trip
Bondurant Middle School is requesting board approval of an overnight trip to Louisville on March 22-24th for our KUNA students to compete in the Kentucky Youth Assembly. We have 39 students and two teacher chaperones needing district transportation, students have work to fund raise to pay for their trip and will stay in the Galt House. Transportation will be provided by FCPS.

EMS Band trip to Kings Island
The EMS Band requests permission to travel to Kings Island for a Music Festival performance.
- The EMS Jazz Band will perform in the Kings Island Music Festival
- Trip will be May 1, 2015
- Approximately 180 students will be invited to go on the trip (6-8 grade band students)
- Band directors (Chris Collins & Josh Toppass) will be going, as well as several chaperones based on the number of students who sign up.
- Transportation will be paid for by students and/or band booster organization.
- Students will pay for park admission and meals.
- Purpose of trip: Music Festival performance & reward.

Bridgeport Elementary is requesting Board support to apply for the Bemus Grant to attempt to begin to fund Project Lead the Way here at BPE.

FRYSC Corp Application
Amanda Heacock, FRC Coordinator for Elkhorn Elementary and Peaks Mill Elementary schools , is requesting your approval of the attached FRYSC Corp Application. She would like to apply to have a FRYSC Corp in Elkhorn Elementary and Peaks Mill Elementary centers for the 2015-2016 school year.
