Rationale

Pursuant to EIS Board Policy 01.45 Board Meeting Agenda, as part of the official agenda for each regular board meeting, the Superintendent shall prepare a consent agenda of routine business items.  Prior to the approval of the agenda, the members of the board may request to "pull" any item from the consent agenda and place the item on the action agenda for further discussion and review.

Rationale

EIS shall assign each school the certified and classified personnel in numbers that meet at least the minimum state requirements.

Calculations are based on projected enrollment.  Allocations will be adjusted on the 15th school day and on September 15, based on actual enrollment unless there are sufficient numbers for a full teacher. These allocation formulas do not include categorical programs staffed at the school such as special education and Title I.

V.F. Approve Tentative School Allocations for the 2023-2024 School Year
Rationale

The Board must approve a tentative allocation to schools by March 1.  The allocation is to include regular certified staff and related fringe benefits (Section 4), classified staffing levels and fringe benefit costs (Section 5), funding for instructional supplies, materials, travel, equipment and other instructional needs (Section 6), and any other funds the Board may decide to allocate to schools Section 7).

Rationale

Attached is a spreadsheet with items marked for salvage. Each of these items are either not working, obsolete, or incompatible with our current generation of hardware. Please note that there are multiple tabs for this spreadsheet. I would like this list to be added to the consent agenda.

V.I. Approve the Nutrition and Physical Activity Report Card for 2023
Rationale

KRS 158.856 requires the Nutrition Services Coordinator to annually assess the nutrition environment within the district and to report the results to parents, board members and school councils.  It also requires a review of the physical activity environment and recommendations to improve both areas.

KRS 158.856 (4) requires the Board of Education to discuss the findings and solicit public comments by holding an advertised public forum during a board meeting.  Following board approval, the report card will be sent to the Kentucky Department of Education, School and Community Nutrition.

Mrs. Marty Adams, Coordinator of Nutrition Services has requested approval of the 2023 Nutrition and Physical Activity Report (attached)

Rationale

Information pertaining to a 3D Printer for EHS was published in the News-Enterprise on January 24, 2023 with all bids to be in the Central Office By Wednesday, February 8, 2023

Two Bids were submitted:

1.  Glowforge with a bid price of $6040.00

2.  Tequipment, Inc with a bid price of $4,349.00  

RECOMMENDATION: Upon Consultation with the High School Stem teachers we recommend to  Approve/accept the bid from Tequipment, Inc for the purchase of $4,349.

IX.A. Approve Updated Technology Job Descriptions
Rationale

Motion to abolish the Network Engineer job description, approve the creation of the network administrator and systems administrator job descriptions, and approve the changes to the Director of Technology and District Technology technician job descriptions as presented, with an effective start date of March 1st for Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, District Technology Technician, and Student Co-Op Technician and a July 1st start date for the Director of Technology position.
