ELIZABETHTOWN HIGH SCHOOL                   AUTUMN FRANTUM

The EHS Student of the month for January is Autumn Frantum.  Autumn is a kind student with an infectious smile.  She has a 3.8 GPA while taking college courses.  Autumn has been on the honor roll every year of high school.  Autumn describes herself as caring, honest and trustworthy.  Autumn currently works at the UPS store through CO-Op.  She enjoys spending time with her friends at the gym, baking and quality time with her family.  Autumn participated in Band for two years and Color Guard for three years.  Autumn plans on attending EKS to study Occupational Health Safety as her major and wants to minor in American Sign Language.

Mr. Ernst  - “Autumn is the quintessential excellent student.  She is intelligent and hardworking, but more importantly she is kind, patient, and mature in all of her interactions with both her peers and her teachers.  Autumn has a bright future ahead, no matter what direction she decides to go.”

Mr. Todd – “Autumn is a pleasure to have in class.  Although she is fairly quiet, her dedication to school work and class participation shines through.  She will be a success in whatever she chooses to do.”

Ms. Bell – “Autumn is a great person.  I love having her in my class.  She is sweet, kind, hard working, and willing to help.  She is very deserving of student of the month.”

Ms. Herringshaw – “Autumn has been with me for two years, taking Algebra 2 mostly virtual and doing a phenomenal job!  She is currently taking Dual Credit College Algebra and will receive college credit for the course.  Autumn is a very conscientious student and a remarkable young lady.”

T.K. STONE MIDDLE SCHOOL             LINCOLN SHIRTS

Lincoln Shirts is TK’s Student of the Month.  Lincoln is a straight A student whose favorite subject is social studies.  He plays baseball and football, during the off season he’s active in clubs.  Lincoln participates in the academic team, student council and he’s present of Beta Club.  He also participates in a Wednesday night youth group at his church.

Mr. Pearman – Lincoln is respectful, hardworking young man.  I appreciate the efforts he exhibits in class.  If he continues on his current path, he will be a productive citizen that any community could want to have.

Mrs. Johnson – Lincoln is an absolute joy to have in class every day.  I want to first point out his attitude.  I can never tell if he is having bad day; he is always respectful, kind and helpful.  Academically, he is outstanding.  His determination and work ethic are impressive and he is an incredible role model for those around him.  I look forward to seeing how he impacts his community in the future!

Mr. Lutz – Lincoln is a great student and excels in algebra 1.  He works hard, has a great attitude, and consistently works to grow his math skills.  Lincoln is a great representative of TKS and the Elizabethtown Independent Schools.

Lincoln is excited about getting up to EHS to take challenging classes.  He thinks it’s cool to be able to choose his own academic path.  He is interested in attending BYU and possibly majoring in business finance, or computer science.  Congratulations to Lincoln.

HELMWOOD HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY             ANNE-VENCIL DONAHUE

Anne-Vencill is not just a wonderful student, but also a great person, states Ms. Sallee, her 2nd grade teacher. She is always looking for ways to help her classmates and me! I can always count on her to be doing exactly what I asked and following my directions. She works super hard and never complains about working hard. Anne-Vencill works with a smile and always gives her very best! I have never heard her say anything negative. Anne-Vencill is an awesome leader in our classroom, and I am excited to see where she goes in life!

Mrs. Kelsey Hood, her 1st grade teacher says, “Anne-Vencill is a wonderful example of what the student of the month should be! This young lady is so many things: a hard worker, kind friend, smart leader, spunky and fun. She not only is a beautiful girl but her heart is pure gold. Anne-Vencill is someone who cheers for others and wants them to succeed as well. I was proud to be her teacher in first grade and she has soared in second grade as well. This young lady has a bright future ahead!”

Mrs. Tiffany Davis writes, I worked with Ann Vencill in math stations in Ms. Sallee's class and Ann Vencill was always very task-oriented, independent, and down to business about completing her math work.  She was quick to get started and was following directions 100% of the time!  She is a wonderful role model for good character for her peers.  It's always fun to work with Anne Vencill!

AV is so deserving of this award! She is ALWAYS delightful. Her behavior is exemplary....and she is a very hard worker, always pays attention, and is helpful to her classmates! She is a teacher's dream!!!! - Mrs. Hignite

MORNINGSIDE ELEMENTARY              PRESLEY LOPP

Presley Lopp is a 4th grade student at Morningside Elementary School.

Her ability to exemplify our school’s Guidelines for Success (To be

respectful, be responsible, be cooperative, and be your best) is what has

earned her the honor of January’s Student of the Month.

She works well with anyone and everyone. When she sees that a

classmate may have missed a direction or is struggling with an assignment,

Presley quietly lends a hand.  She never expects acknowledgement of her

good deeds.  She does them because she knows she is doing what is right

and respectful.

Presley walks through the door of any classroom with a sparkle in her eye

and a smile (I’m sure it’s there under her mask), ready to give her very best

at everything she does.  Her work is meticulous and is evidence of how

seriously she takes her role as a learner. When met with a challenge, she

persists until she is able to complete the task successfully. If she has been

frustrated, I have never seen it in her actions or efforts. I believe that trait is

going to take her to big places and I cannot wait to see what the future

holds.

Mrs. Baxter says:  Presley is a joy to have in class. She is attentive, respectful and kind to

everyone.  She is a role model to other students.

Mrs. Willett says:  Presley is a wonderful addition to any classroom she lands in. She is a

great listener and role model to her peers. She is always in a pleasant

mood and eager to learn.

Presley is a quiet leader that can be counted on to always do what is right,

even when no one is around.  It is for these reasons that we are honored to

award Presley Lopp as Morningside’s January Student of the Month.

PANTHER ACADEMY    MERRICK OWEN

I have been waiting years…5 1/2 years to be exact to have Merrick Owens in my class.  I had her oldest sister who is now a sophomore and her brother who is in 6th grade a few years later…Funny story that she okay’d for me to share but the morning of Foster’s first day, Momma dropped her sweet boy off and was in labor with Merrick.  After coffee and a nail appointment, Momma texted me before school had dismissed that she had a beautiful baby girl named Merrick!  Needless to say, how excited I was to know I would have another amazing Owens child.  Merrick has been so worth the wait!

If I had to give Merrick a nickname, it would be Mini Mrs. Pinkham.  I am confident that if we had a sub shortage and I need to miss that she could fill my shoes for a day!  She is such a strong role model not only following our school and classroom guidelines but is always willing to politely talk to another child if they are struggling with procedures or having a tough time.  She gently reminds the student and ends with a hug!  She finishes her work pretty fast and somehow “knows” if a child is in need of help and will go help explain directions or I’ve even heard her help the child “solve” whatever the problem is…she does this and will not “give an answer”, she has a natural tendency to “teach”.  I have also witnessed Miss Merrick see a student who might need a little extra attention or love on a particular day and ask me if she can invite that student to sit with her or if she can sit with them.  She has such a nurturing compassionate heart.

She has a huge love for learning and such a fun sprite!  She is so eager to please me and always works so hard to be better than the day before.  If she comes back to me in 12 years after graduation and tells me that she has decided to be a Kindergarten, I will not be a bit surprised!  Merrick is so very worthy of being Panther Academy’s January Student of the Month.
