4.B. Athlete of the Month - Landyn Hopper
Rationale

Congratulations to Landyn Hopper who was named Athlete of the Month for September 2022.  Landyn received this award because  he has twice been selected by the Cincinnati Enquirer as a candidate for Northern Kentucky Football Player of the Week. In the four games DHS has played this season he has had 73 carries for 722 yards and 10 touchdowns. He is currently 5th in the state for rushing and points scored.

4.C. Artist of the Month - Lily Johnson
Rationale

Congratulation to Lily Johnson for being named Artist of the Month for September 2022.  Lily received this award for always coming to class prepared and ready to work. She pays close attention to art demonstrations and lessons, shows amazing attention to detail, and is a skilled artist.

4.D. Presentation of Stillwell Award
Rationale

Named after the late William E. Stilwell, Ph.D., the Stilwell Award is presented to the unsung heroes that have gone above and beyond the call of duty in education technology; they devote their efforts entirely to our K-12 students, teachers, and administrators. Identified by their red suspenders, the annual Stilwell Award winners represent the best-of-the-best, who show up daily in their tireless service to Kentucky schools and the high-quality education technology services and supports that are required.

This award is being presented to:

Director of Technology – Casey Woods

District Computer Technician – Billy Burns

Nominees will be recognized on October 18, 2022  - "Red Suspender Day"

  • Progress reports went  home - these included STAR reading and math assessment results

  • Flex groups began - students are placed in groups depending on assessment scores

  • Homecoming football game, parade, and dance took place October 16 & 17

  • 1st grad rate tracking meeting took place

  • Principals and counselor met.  Every senior had a plan for senior year and post secondary plans

  • ASK Exam was administered.  This exam plus MOS certification deems a student career ready.  Goal is to have 30 students complete this goal

  • Quality control data will be coming out tomorrow for staff only - data becomes available to public on October 18.  These are scores from state testing that took place in May 2022

  • New accountability system going into effect.  Schools will be rated on a 5 level color scale

  • Behavior is main concern with new preschoolers (not potty-trained, more autism diagnoses, lack of social skills)
