Ella is a standout on the softball team.She is batting .364 with 6 RBIs with zero errors. She also made All-A All Tournament team.

Congratulations to our April 2022 Artist of the Month - Anna Karnes

Anna was chosen as the artist of the month because throughout the entire year she has done an amazing job improving her flute skills. She can always be counted on her to know her parts and to be ready to go in class. She has shown a great will to be the best that she can be at flute. The work she has done this school year has not gone unnoticed and we are looking forward to her continued growth.

  • Putting the finishing touches on the master schedule

  • Current CCR rate is 64.8%

  • STAR testing - Incentive reward for students doing their best is a day at Gil Lynn Park

  • DHS students took a field trip to see Shakespeare in the Park

  • DMS is finishing up their honor roll lunches

  • A joint career fair took place at Bellevue High School - Dayton will host next year

  • Senior signing day took place with 24 student signing

  • Reality store will take place on April 28 - this event helps prepare students for the "real world"

  • Wall of Distinction program will take place on April 28

  • Prom will take place on Friday, April 29

  • DHS drama department will be putting on the Outsiders late April/early May


 

7.B. LES Principal's Report

  • The second book fair took place with every student receiving 5 free books.  Special thanks to Diane Huff for helping with the event

  • The elementary school drama club will be putting on the production Junie B Jones May 5 & 6.  They will have 2 separate casts to more kids get a chance to participate

  • STAR reading and math data will be discussed at the May board meeting

  • During the spring PTC academic conference, 91% of students were represented

  • Preschool/Kindergarten registration - 56 students showed up (best turnout in recent years) and students received a lot of goodies

  • LES is working on adopting a new reading series

  • 5 new staff members have been hired

  • On Monday, May 6 - staff will be sharing strength data with students and their families

  • Custodial staff is gearing up for summer cleaning

  • Some classrooms will be getting moved over the summer

  • Locker room renovation has begun to keep the work on schedule

  • Officer Ripberger is attending SRO training in June

  • Still trying to determine if we need another SRO since our campus is so small

  • Bus 4 repairs are completed

  • We currently have 775 students enrolled and the attendance rate if 92%
