Rationale

Congratulations to Braiden Comstock, the February 2021 Athlete of the Month.  Braiden Comstock has been a staple player in multiple sports his entire career as a Greendevil.  Currently, Braiden is leading the Greendevil basketball team with the following stats:

13.3 Points Per Game

2.7 Rebounds Per Game

3.5 Assists Per Game

3.2 Steals Per Game

He is currently shooting 44% from the field.  Keep it up, Braiden!

Angel Patterson reports:

  • From what I know many students are excited to hear that we might be returning to school full time.  I feel like overall this will help the student body.
  • With the possibility of coming back to school full time, I still want to throw out the suggestion of having a prom.  I talked with some seniors and it was brought up that if we do return to school full time, what would be different about having a prom.  Mask would be worn and it will also give the seniors a part of their year that is normal.

  • 1st re-entry team meeting took place - nice discussion

  • 2nd meeting scheduled for 3/3/21

  • CASE testing is complete


Jay Brewer commented on re-entry meeting:



  • One major concern of re-entry is feeding students.  Lunch is the only meal that will be served at school and students will be divide between cafeteria and gym.  Divider will be used to separate lunch from gym class.  Breakfast will be bagged and sent home with students and there is currently no plan to serve dinner

  • February 12th was a staff workday.  Teachers participated in a data scavenger hunt

  • Successmaker Math is an adaptive learning program where students are able to work at their own level

  • The summer learning program will be 8 weeks long and LES is partnering with 21st Century

  • Scholastic Book Fair will start on 2/26/21 and every student will receive 5 free books
