4.A. Employee of the Month - Theresa Fisette
Rationale

We would like to recognize Theresa Fisette as the April 2020 Inspire, Engage, and Grow Employee of the Month!

Theresa Fisette has spent her entire 27 year teaching career in the Dayton Independent School District.  During her years, she has served as an early childhood teacher by serving our littlest little devils – our kindergartners and preschoolers.  Theresa has worked tirelessly to ensure our little learners have a solid and positive beginning to their school careers.  She has worked collaboratively with several different teacher teams and instructional assistants in this critical work with her students and their families.  During her years in early childhood education, Theresa has seen many changes and initiatives come along.  Theresa has questioned, researched, and implemented these changes in order to help her students to learn and grow.  Throughout her entire career at Lincoln, Theresa has been very giving to the staff.  She is always one of the very first to make a monetary donation to a staff member in need, reaches out to staff with condolences and congratulations for meaningful moments in their lives, and rarely wants to spend time talking about her own needs.  When asked by her closest colleagues to describe Theresa, the following words were used:  dedicated, compassionate, and encouraging.

As she closes out her teaching career, Theresa is saddened that she isn’t spending these last few months in the classroom with her students.  However, she has worked diligently with her colleagues to ensure that her students are still receiving meaningful and engaging learning opportunities at home.  She is reaching out to her students and their families to check on them and offer any kind of assistance that she can.  It is with sincere gratitude that we name Theresa Fisette as this month’s DIS Inspire, Engage and Grow Employee of the Month as she closes out her prideful teaching career at Lincoln Elementary School.
