4.D. Athlete of the Month - Johnessah Barbiea
Rationale

Please congratulate this young lady, Johnessah Barbiea, as she has earned our Athlete Of The Month honor.  Johnessah is one of the FEW Lady Devils to ever score 1000 points in her basketball career and it is not over yet.  She was recently named to the All-Tournament team for the All-A Classic, where she scored 15 points again the All-A eventual Champions.  Johnessah has been the regional champion several times over in Track and Field and holds school records in the jumps and has twice by the Conference Track and Field Athlete of the year.  She is also a stand-out volleyball player, earning All-Tournament and All-Conference honors.  Aside from these athletic accomplishments, Johnessah is a hard worker who is a true joy to coach and know.  Continue making us all proud, Jumpin' J!!

  • Admin and teachers have spent PLC time revamping flex schedule

  • honor roll numbers for the second quarter

  • NaviGo meetings with Freshmen - Staff members are meeting with freshmen individually to help guide them down the right pathway.

  • 8 students were chosen to attend the Northern Kentucky Band Symposium

  • NKU admissions counselor visited during the free application period.

  • Beginning work on the 2020-2021 class schedule.

  • Johnessah Barbiea reached 1000 points in basketball.

  • Scripps Howard Book Fair took place and each students was able to pick out 4 books.  Students are also receiving free books from the IAL grant.

  • Amanda Berringer presented a Powerpoint to the board highlighting the work she has been doing in her new position as Academic Intervention Specialist

  • Testing is taking place and teachers are analyzing data

  • Students will also be taking the quality of school climate survey and this will count

  • Case test results. Some concern among board members regarding the decline in the math test scores.

  • Overall, facilities are in good shape

  • Attendance is up in the 5th month. High school attendance was up 1 percentage point.

  • Stickers for the new sensory pathway at LES have been purchased

  • Day treatment program is going really well. A noticeable difference with referrals going down.
