Employee of the Month - Sheila McGuire
We would like to recognize Sheila McGuire as the September 2019 Inspire, Engage, and Grow Employee of the Month!
Sheila truly is a Greendevil! She loves her school and her town of Dayton. Sheila takes great pride in her work and wants the school and classrooms to look great. She does a great job of taking ownership of her work and truly owning what she does for Lincoln Elementary. She has been an employee for a long time here at Lincoln and every teacher and student knows Miss Sheila and what she does. She truly is on a five star mission to make Lincoln a clean and safe learning environment for our students and staff.

Athlete of the Month - Jordan Marksberry
We would like to congratulate our athlete of the month, Mr. Jordan Marksberry. He has had a stellar start to the 2019 Football season. In just the game against Gallatin County, Jordan had over 200 yards rushing and scored touchdown on all of the following: 4 on the offensive side of the ball, 1 on defensive side of the ball and 1 during special teams. Jordan is also a member of our basketball team and a state medalist during the 2019 Track and Field State Championships after qualifying in 4 events. Go Devils, Go Jordan!

Artist of the Month - Ronshae Barwick
Dayton High School would like to congratulate our September Artist of the Month - Roneshae Barwick.
Roneshea is an excellent student. She goes above and beyond in her effort and her drawings show the time, effort and quality of her skills. She is an example to other students and helps others.

DHS Principal's Report
Scott Meyers
Scott Meyers discussed:
- Flex schedule
- Attendance rewards (donuts, Kona Ice)
- SAT Team - identifies students that need help an assign them to a mentor
- FAFSA night - attendance was low, but they are going to offer another one.
- Red Book training
- Band Competition went well
- Football and Volleyball teams doing well
- Logistics pathway has been well received and the 5 students enrolled are doing well.

LES Principal's Report
Heather Dragan discussed:
- Brigance assessments are taking place in Kindergarten
- K-6 finished MAP testing and they will get the results next month
- Lot of Professional Development taking place
- Many Extra curricular activities have begun
- 21st Century lost funding but fortunately, the YMCA was able to find alternate funding to keep the program going for the rest of the school year.
- Healthpoint and Dental Clinic are up and running
- Cincinnati Behavioral Health and Northkey have therapists in the building offering individual and group therapy.

Ron Kinmon
Ron Kinmon discussed:
- Attendance - first month of school attendance was very similar to the last 4 years. 21 LES students and 8 DHS students started after the first day
- Attended DPP conference in Lexington. Our attendance compared to statewide attendance is good.
- Energy walk-thru will take place on 10/3/19
- Reminded board that we will need a new food service van and maintenance truck fairly soon.

Nicole Ponting
Nicole Ponting reported:
- Daycare continues to operate in the positive
- Growing Sound/David Kisor has started and he will be coming to Family Engagement Night
- Preschool field trips to Benton Farm will take place on 9/25/19 and 9/26/19.
- SPED teachers have been attending professional development - learning about 504 plans
- Day treatment program has started at DHS and will be starting at LES after fall break
- New program - Unified track and bowling for special ed students
