6. ORDINANCES - 1st READING
6.A. Consider Ordinance 4-2025 entitled AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF TAYLOR AVENUE TO KAMUF WAY.
Rationale

Owensboro Catholic High School has requested that the name of Taylor Avenue be changed to Kamuf Way to honor Charles and Linda Kamuf, who have made significant contributions to the school. No residences have addresses on Taylor Avenue.

Rationale

The City wishes to adopt by reference the new Daviess County Animal Control Ordinance, KOC 1010.9 (2025), as it may be amended from time to time. The City specifically retains the provisions in Article I of Chapter 4, Section 4-18 of Chapter 4, and Section 19-6 of the Owensboro Municipal Code related to animals.

Rationale

The Order authorizes a Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Owensboro and TS Entertainment, LLC providing that the City will pay TS Entertainment, LLC $1,500,000.00, payable in four (4) equal installments of $375,000.00, for its development of the property located at 5000 Frederica Street and 5105 Back Square Drive containing a total of 33.111 acres, more or less.

Rationale

Members of the audience may address the Board of Commissioners on any matter of public concern that was not on the agenda.  Comments are limited to issues within the scope and responsibility of the Commission. Commission meetings are held to conduct city business for the benefit of Owensboro citizens and taxpayers. 

At this time, anyone who wishes to address the City Commission please make their way to the podium to be recognized.  Speakers must state their name and address for the Clerk’s record, and limit their remarks to three (3) minutes or less.  Since the item is not on the agenda, no response is required from staff or the Board of Commissioners.  The Mayor reserves the right to extend time to the speaker.
