Rationale

The estimated revenues and fund balances set forth in the 2021-2022 Budget of the City of Owensboro are hereby appropriated to the various departments of the City of Owensboro for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2021, and ending June 30, 2022, in the amount of $131,010,844, inclusive of Internal Service Funds, for the various purposes designated in the 2021-2022 Annual Budget.

8.A. Consider Municipal Order 17-2021 entitled A MUNICIPAL ORDER AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A REAL ESTATE SALE AGREEMENT FOR THE TRANSFER OF PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF OWENSBORO LOCATED AT 622 ELM STREET.
Rationale

The City previously acquired the property located at 622 Elm Street and now desires to transfer the property to Habitat for Humanity of Owensboro-Daviess County, Inc.  Habitat will perform additional improvements on the property which will ready it for homeownership as part of neighborhood redevelopment.

Rationale

The Citizens Advisory Committee has recommended that the Owensboro Board of Commissioners accept the 2021-2022 Annual Action Plan for Community Development Block Grant and HOME Funds in order to continue to address the need for housing and community development in the community.

Rationale

OPD seeks to purchase ten (10) X26P Tasers, ten (10) X26P Auto Shut Down Battery Packs, and ten (10) cartridges for X26P Tasers through the Law Enforcement Protection Program grant awarded by the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.

Rationale

Metalsa Structural Products, Inc. has made application and received approval for certain benefits and incentives available to it under the Kentucky Business Investment Program as a result of its commitment to expand and create jobs and investments in Owensboro. The site of the operation is located at 4010 Airpark with total investment costs of approximately $30 Million.

Rationale

Members of the audience are invited to address the City Commission on any matter of public concern that was not on tonight’s agenda.  Comments are limited to issues within the scope and responsibility of this Commission.  Commission meetings are held to conduct city business for the benefit of Owensboro citizens and taxpayers. 

At this time, anyone who wishes to address the City Commission please make their way to the podium to be recognized.  Speakers must state their name and address for the Clerk’s record, and limit their remarks to three (3) minutes or less.  Since the item is not on the agenda, no response is required from City staff or the Commission.  The Mayor reserves the right to extend time to the speaker.
