Motion Passed:  Motion made for the Court to extend a water line 0.4 of a mile on Stewart Lane from LGEA funds, not to exceed $6,000.00 passed with a motion by Kenny Autry and a second by Larry Keown.

No action taken, there will be a public forum prior to the next court meeting on August 9, 2011, at 4:30 p.m.

Discussion

Magistrate Jason Bullock of the Smoking Ban committee presented the Court with a county ordinance that will place fines onto non-compliant smokers that choose to smoke in public facilities. He asked the court to look at the information and review it. No vote was taken.

Chief Deputy Steve Kimble of the Road Weight Limit Committee presented to the Court some revisions that were made to the proposed ordinance. No action was taken.

Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  Motion made by Judge Executive David Johnston to pay a former Road Department employee, Randy Maiden, for 40 hours of sick time earned passed with a motion by David Johnston and a second by Kenny Autry.

Motion Passed:  Motion made to the Court by recommendation of Joe Woods, Road Department Supervisor, to hire a seasonal employee to take the place of termed employee, Raymond Lamar. The Court voted to hire Darrell Elder, part-time seasonal, $10.00 per hour, effective July 28, 2011 passed with a motion by David Johnston and a second by Jason Bullock.

Discussion

Janice Embry, Finance Officer, presented to the court the possibility of random drug testing for all county employees. after discussion among the Court, no action was taken.

18. Closed Session
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  Motion made that the Court go into Closed Session to discuss industrial recruitment, the legal authrity that allows us to go into closed session is KRS 61.810(1)(g) passed with a motion by Kenny Autry and a second by Brandon Thomas.

Motion Passed:  Motion made that the Court comes out of Closed Session no businesss was discussed and no action was taken. Judge Johnston stated that no action was taken. passed with a motion by Jason Bullock and a second by Brandon Thomas.
