Discussion

Smoke Free committee-Magistrate Jason Bullock asked Treasuarer Ann Melton the status of the "Smoke Free Survey" and if we were still receiving the opinions/votes. Ann said that we still receive the surveys daily and will finish up this committee once the County Budget passes.

Animal Control Committee-Animal Control Officer, Josh Wright said the Ordinace that is being prepared is being reviewed by County Attorney, Greg Hill.

Reapportionment Committee-Magistrate Larry Keown said they met today (April 26, 2011) and he and Bill Smith from GRADD, are getting numbers together and will have more information to present ant the next court meeting.

7. GRADD Report-Jody Flener,Ohio County Health Council
Discussion

Jodi Flener with GRADD reported to the court about the Ohio County Health Coalition. She informed the Court that the main purpose of the coalition is to to come together with area citizens, businesses, and organizations for the betterment of Ohio County. She told the Court that meetings were held every 3rd thurseday of the month and anyone was welcome to attend. Stephanie Lamar, the regional Health Director presented the Court with a Health Report Card.

8. 2nd Reading Ordinance #2011-8--Sheriff/Clerk Collecting/Disposition of Fees

Motion Passed:  Motion made by Brandon Thomas that the Court approve the second reading of Ordinance #2011-8, Sheriff/Clerk collecting/Disposition of Fees passed with a motion by Brandon Thomas and a second by Michael McKenney.

9. 2nd Reading Ordinance #2011-11, Armstrong Coal Retention of Occupational License Fees

Motion Passed:  Motion made by Larry Keown that the Court approve the second reading of the Armstrong Coal Retention of Occupational License Fees-Armstrong Incentive Package Ordinance #2011-11 passed with a motion by Larry Keown and a second by Kenny Autry.

Motion Passed:  Motion made by Brandon Thomas that the Court take bids on crop land, about 35-37 acres(bid per acre) to make a paylake. passed with a motion by Brandon Thomas and a second by Michael McKenney.

Discussion

Tornadoe siren went off and Judge asked that a county employee see what is going on and everyone said, EMA Director was alreay checking the situation out. Treasurer, Ann Melton informed the Court that a warning for Ohio County had been issued. Judge Johnston told the public we would try to finish the meeting as quickly as possible.

Sheriff Thompson addressed the Court and recommended hiring Tim Hatfield effective, April 18, 2011 at $12.50 an hour.

Josh Wright addressed the Court and said that the GRADD Shelter Grant had fell through and needed follow up, Judge Johnston said GRADD still had access to that and to follow up with them and contact Anita Arends who had been writing it up.

Magistrate Brandon Thomas asked the Court to put something in Budget for Repair Affair to make a small donation, Judge Johnston said there was money set aside in the Budget for this and could be discussed at the Budget Workshop.
