OCEDA Director Jason Chinn addressed the Fiscal Court to give an Economic Development Update for Ohio County. Ohio County has been selected as a top county in the United States and in Kentucky for Site Selectors. 

VIII. Sleep In Heavenly Peace - Angel Howard
Discussion

Angel Howard with 501C3 non profit Sleep In Heavenly Peace presented their charity to the Fiscal Court. SIHP provides beds for children who don't have one, ages 3-17 years of age in Ohio County. The Charity requested $5,000.00 to go directly to the cause.

IX. United For Youth - Mary Ann Piper
Discussion

Mary Ann Piper presented a non profit to the court. Ohio County United For Youth. They have requested $1,000.00 to do directly to events and material for United For Youth. The Court may be able to redirect the cause to KY ASAP for funding.

X. Golf Course Personnel
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  Approved Golf Course new hire of Jessi Willis as Seasonal Pro Shop Attendant at $13.99 per hour effective July 1, 2024 passed with a motion by David Johnston.

XI. Road Department Personnel
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  Approved Road Department new hire of Dallas Fraim as full time Operator at $18.29 per hour effective July 1, 2024 passed with a motion by David Johnston.

XII. Rockport Fire Department Equipment Bids
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  Approved Rockport Fire Department Bid from Atlantic Emergency Solutions for an Artic Air Compressor in the amount of $48,673.10. Two bids were received passed with a motion by Bo Bennett and a second by Jason Bullock.

XIII. Restricted Accounts
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  In an effort to manage payroll and overtime cost and health insurance costs: Effective July 1, 2024 payroll accounts will be restricted by lime item. Transfers will be allowed within the payroll associated accounts will not be allowed. This includes ALL Payroll, FICA, Retirement and Health Insurance accounts in ALL funds passed with a motion by Jason Bullock and a second by Michael McKenney.

Discussion

Citizen Jamie Skudlarek brought to attention that the Cromwell weather siren did not go off today when a tornado was seen in the area. Citizens rely on that siren and were not alerted to take cover without the siren.
