3. Resource Officer Needs
Rationale

  • Rifle Rated Shield - around $6,000 for each location

  • Helmets – around $500.00 each

  • Plates - $550/plate, need 2 per person for front and back

  • Carriers – around $200.00 each

  • AR-15 with shorter barrel – around $1,200 each

Priorities:  Shields, Helmets & Plates, Rifles

    Bullistic protection is most important.

Look into grants for body armor & shields

Open Gates will be used for graduation; adjust sensitivity

  • Security Issues

  • Alarm exiting out the door

  • Bridge – steel mesh to keep from reaching through to get something

  • No hoodies – talk to principals (hoodies shouldn’t be up)

  • “School Security Teams” at each school

4. Consider Approval of the Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline for the 2024-2025 School Year
Actions Taken

Order #7253 - Motion Passed:  Consider approval of the Code of Acceptable Behavior and Discipline for the 2024-2025 school year passed with a motion by Mr. Ryan McDaniel and a second by Mr. William Asbridge.

5. Budget Discussions
6. ESSER
7. Other Discussion
Rationale

  • Boys soccer (losing kids to other counties)

    Construction Update

  • Next 30 days – all footers in and at least half of the floor poured. Steel windows/casings coming next week
  • Elevator pit put in wrong location – will not impact our cost
  • Credit for casework in computer lab - $3,000
  • Credit for heat exchanger unit not needed - $15,000
  • Wall underneath the footing – 40 ft. footing and stem wall removal (no price on that yet)
  • 3 eyewash stations - $28,000 (Craig asked for a materials breakout because he said that seemed high)
  • Fire Alarms – all buildings (MS/HS) are connected, will do MS alternate only; would free up $96,000

8. Adjournment
Actions Taken

Order #7254 - Motion Passed:  Motion to adjourn passed with a motion by Mr. Ryan McDaniel and a second by Mr. Eric LaRue.
