Rationale

Pursuant to CIPS Policy 09.36 School-Related Student Trips, Holmes High School is requesting permission to attend the International Career Development Conference, ICDC in Orlando, Florida from April 26-30, 2025.

Two students who competed in the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA) Conference, that was held from March 2-4, 2025, Louisville, Kentucky qualified to participate in the Thrive Academy at ICDC.

Payment for registration is due March 18, 2025.

Registration is $160 per attendee.

Hotel is $229/ night / room (2 rooms maximum, but if only 2 students go, then they will split a hotel room with another school).

Flights are looking to be $280 round trip through Frontier airlines.

That brings total estimated cost for 4 students to be around $2,676 or $669 per student.

For advisor, Ms. Peyton Mullins = $1,276 and a chaperone (who will be judging and should receive free registration and can share a hotel room with me) $280 round trip flight.

Kentucky is staying at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Disney Springs which offers free breakfast each morning and free hot food like chicken tenders and pasta at dinnertime, meaning only lunches would be paid for students.

Conference will be held at the Orange County Convention Center Orlando. We will have buses provided by DECA to and from the convention center.

Holmes High School DECA will pay for a Disney World ticket for each student and Disney Springs provides trolley transit to and from the parks.
