No action shall be taken during this portion of the meeting on issues raised by employees or the public unless deemed an emergency by the Board. Please note: Speakers are asked to refrain from personal remarks in which an individual is named. Comments are limited to two minutes unless extended by the board chair. Critical comments or complaints are processed through the District’s complaint procedures. Questions and concerns will be addressed by the Board through various venues, including, but not limited to, the district website and e-mail. In addition, copies of the meeting rules and procedures will be provided at every board meeting.

Mr. Rick Wurth, CEO of Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky will provide a Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky Update.

Transformational Learning Center’s administration and staff will report to the Board about their continuing improvement efforts.

VII.3. Membership Attendance ~ Fourth Month

This is a monthly agenda item used to keep the Board and Administration up to date on attendance and enrollment figures.  This report contains the membership and percentage of attendance for students by school and compares the current year’s enrollment figures with those from previous school years.

Last year, at the January 11, 2018 Regular Board Meeting, Mr. Alvin Garrison, Superintendent, facilitated a discussion about cold weather days and wanted to update the Board with the procedures in which the district currently has in place.

Rationale

Mr. Brian Moore has been recommended for Emergency Certification in Mathematics. Mr. Moore is currently Kentucky certified in Social Studies and teaches full-time at Holmes High School.  Secondary Mathematics is a critical shortage area in Kentucky.

Rationale

Student #2120544203 is a special education student who had spinal surgery. Upon release, said student has extensive physical therapy scheduled weekly which results in needing a shortened day three (3) days a week. Admission and Release Committee was in agreement with shortened week until completion of therapy.

Rationale

Mr. Bill Grein, Assessment Coordinator, will provide non-academic data to assist with analyzing school, district, regional and state data. The data was collected from the School Report Card that is available on the Kentucky Department of Education's website. The following information will be reviewed; demographic data, free and reduced lunch, homeless population, English learners, special education student population, attendance percentage, student teacher ratio, percentage of new teachers in the district, teacher experience by district, teacher turnover by district, and kindergarten readiness.
