Members of the public may address the Board during the period set aside by the Board without submitting an item for the agenda. No action shall be taken during this portion of the meeting on issues raised by employees or the public unless deemed an emergency by the Board. Please note: Speakers are asked to refrain from personal remarks in which an individual is named. Comments are limited to two minutes unless extended by the board chair. Critical comments or complaints are processed through the District’s complaint procedures. Questions and concerns will be addressed by the Board through various venues, including, but not limited to, the district website and e-mail. In addition, copies of the meeting rules and procedures will be provided at every board meeting.

Each year surrounding districts except Bellevue, Campbell County, and Silver Grove agree to reciprocity on any/all non-resident students.   Bellevue, Campbell County, and Silver Grove agree only on a case by case situations.

Pursuant to CIPS Policy 09.33 Fund Raising Activities, Board approval is required for all school-wide fundraising activities. Latonia Elementary School would like to raise money to benefit their school activities by partnering with SchoolStore.com.

Rationale

Pursuant to CIPS Policy 09.33 Fund Raising Activities, Board approval is required for all school-wide fundraising activities. Glenn O Swing is requesting approval to raise money to purchase items for students. Items to be sold will be admission tickets to the Ties and Tiara event.

Pursuant to CIPS Policy 09.36 School Related Student Trips. Holmes Middle School is requesting the board to approve their educational trip to  Louisville, Kentucky for the Kentucky Youth Assembly.

Dates: November 4-6, 2018

Location: Crown Plaza Hotel, Louisville

Purpose of trip: To participate in KYA’s middle school assembly

Transportation mode: School bus

Number of students attending: 6

Number of adults attending: 2

Breakdown of cost:

       Registration: $45 per student, covered through a grant from the Elsa Sule Foundation

       Hotel: $215 per night, 3 student rooms 2 chaperone rooms, covered through the Elsa Sule Grant

       Transportation cost: $1,500, covered by Covington Education Foundation

       Food: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by the event

       Temp duty: School is out, no temp duty, stipend provided to chaperone
