December SBDM Meeting
I. Call to Order

Mr. Booher called the meeting to order at 4:30.

II. Public Comment
Discussion

Mrs. King brought up the topic of the potential community homecoming dance and that she wants to make sure that the high school name is not attached to it.  Mr Booher said we don't have any control over what the community does, but that we are not liable for anything that might go wrong.


Mr. Booher reported that Sarah Belcher has been chosen as a semifinalist for the Coca Cola Scholars program.

Motion Passed:  Option 1 approved plan as is. passed with a motion by Mr. Lyle Blackburn and a second by Mr. Brian Hobbs and the consensus of the council.

Discussion

December is the month that SBDM reviews the CSIP.  We have 3 options.

1. No changes to goals.

2. Create own goals using your own test score data.

3. Create goals using statistical projections.

The Academic Performance Committee voted to use option 1.

V.A. Budget Report
Discussion

Good shape in budget.  Still waiting on bill for picnic tables and concrete.

V.B. Principal's Report
Discussion

TruScore Boot Camp will be a two-day camp in February prior to the February ACT.  Red schedule until at least Jan 4.  Governor is working with KDE on guidelines.  SACS coming up soon.  Teachers will have the evidence ready by Dec 18.  KASA can conduct our policy review in the Spring in order to have the new policies ready for the 21-22 school year.  In athletics we will know Thursday when the winter sports will be able to occur.

V.C. TruScore Results
Discussion

This year's juniors are trailing behind last year's juniors in all areas.  Possibly related to NTI instructions and the pandemic.  English and math departments are going to use Edgenuity after break for test prep in addition to the Mastery Prep materials.
