Proposed 6 Period Schedule for 2020-2021
Mr. Booher discussed the rationale behind the proposal for a 6-Period schedule if PHS were to start with an online learning education to start the 2020-21 school year. The schedule would allow students to focus more on core content areas and have less of a course-load to manage online. The schedule would also allow teachers to potentially make up for lost content from the spring semester.

Budget Report
Mr. Booher reports that the budget is in good shape overall due to lack of expenses towards the end of the year.

Panther Report
Mr. Booher presented his Panther Report. 18 Students scored a 30+ on the ACT. Junior ACT Scores will go up to a 21.7 this year from a 21.6 from last year. Parent SBDM nominations are June 8th-12th. Elections will be on the 17th & 23rd. SBDM Training will be online due to COVID-19. Summer School for PHS is online this summer. Virtual graduation was filmed over 2 days with Gearheart Communications. An in-person graduation is still planned at Hillard Howard Field in late July. Opening of schools is still up in the air as of June 8th, 2020.

Upon exiting closed session, Mr. Booher announced the following hires at PHS: Stephanie Hall, High School Science. Laura Cooley, High School Academic Head Coach. Jordan Johnson, High School Academic Team Assistant Coach. Stephanie Gallant, High School Softball Team Assistant Coach. Elisha Justice, High School Cross Country Head Coach. Tony Whitehead, High School Cross Country Assistant Coach. These hires are recognized by a motion from Mr. Blackburn and a second from Mrs. King and a consensus of the Council. Three positions remain open: Junior High Academic Team Head Coach, Junior High Academic Team Assistant Coach, and Junior High Dance Coach.
