Discussion

This would be a recommendation for the School Board to change how grades are calculated for the Spring Semester. Mr. Booher believes the change would be in the best interest of students due to the online learning system that has been introduced due to the COVID-19 situation.

Discussion

No significant changes to the budget during the past month.

V.b. Panther Report
Discussion

Mr. Booher presented the Panther Report. Two students were inducted into the Gatton Academy for their junior and senior years of High School at WKU. Three students at PHS were selected at Rogers Scholars (Each county in KY gets at least 1, PHS has three which were the only three in Pike County). Two students in the Junior High were selected as Rogers Explorers. Jason Lin scored a 2nd perfect 36 on the ACT. 17 students at PHS have a 30+ on the ACT. PHS has partnered with Georgetown College in an Independent Schools program that will give students a minimum of $20,000 per year if students have a 3.0 and 21 on the ACT. Surrounding schools are interested in partnering with PHS in order to remain competitive with Georgetown. Governor's Cup state finals for Junior High and High School have been cancelled. Prom is currently being postponed until more information is available. PHS would like to do a live graduation at some point, even if it were months in the future. Senior Decision day will be done via a video with students selecting their college they will attend. Two faculty members have new additions to their family, Tyler Branham and Michelle Scott.
