Others Present: Sarah Belcher, Ashley Adams.


PHS Student, Sarah Belcher, discussed a Book Drive she is doing as an outreach program for the Westcare shelter. Books of any type or condition will be accepted during 1st period classes. The winning class will be awarded with donuts. 


Mrs. Ashley Adams presented a joint service program with the Rotary Club called Interact Club. She requested the addition of this program at PHS be added to the agenda and approved.

Motion Passed:  Motion to approve all action/consent items as presented passed with a motion by Mr. Lyle Blackburn and a second by Mrs. Rebecca King and the consensus of the council.

Discussion

All items were approved with the exception of two chorus fundraising requests for further discussion. 

Approved adding the Book Drive and Interact Club to the Action/Consent items.

-Open House and College Fair upcoming

-All emergency drills required by law have been completed up to this point.

-ACT Boot Camp will take place for PHS Students on February 5th, 2020.

-September 10th Student Picture Day

-Suicide Presentation training for all grades is to be completed soon.

-Lend a Hand, Take a Stand app will be live soon.

-Members of the SBDM Council provided signatures for the School Profile Report.

-Hall of Fame Game & Induction Ceremonies September 13th vs. Raceland.

-Homecoming Parade October 10th

 

V.b.1. ACT KABC Presentation
Discussion

Mr. Booher and Mrs. Stewart presented to the Council a summary of a report they were to give at a conference the following afternoon. The presentation covered the ACT preparation, data study, implementation of the staff and students at PHS.
