Motion Passed:  Motion to approve all action/consent items as presented with the exception of two Chorus fundraisers (T-Shirt & Dinner) passed with a motion by Mr. Lyle Blackburn and a second by Mrs. Rebecca King and the consensus of the council.

Two fundraiser requests for Chorus were held out of approval for further discussion and revision.

Discussion

The topic the further examining if STAR Testing is necessary for the 2019-2020 school year was included and determined to be left in the budget.

IV.b. 2nd Reading of amendment to online courses policy

V.a. Panther Report
Discussion

Mr. Booher presented the Panther Report to the Council. He shared several achievements and events to celebrate and for which to plan. 

-Pikeville Independent named the #4 School District in Kentucky by Niche.com.

-Pikeville Independent was named the #1 place to work in the same report.

-Registration at PHS will be held on August 13th.

-Approximately 75 students attended 7th Grade Orientation this summer.

-Tuesday September 3rd will be the tentative date for Open House at PHS.

-Teachers are set to receive ACT Mastery Prep training before this school year.

-The Cooking Team will be competing at State Competition August 20th.

-The Varsity Band was awarded a $22,500 grant to help with their program.

-Several coaches attended the required CPR/AED training last week.

-Rising Senior Jackson Hensley committed to Harvard University to play Football.
