1. Call to Order/Roll Call

Motion Passed:  Motion to call the meeting to order passed with a motion by Amy Hounshell and a second by Brenda Tincher and the consensus of the council.

2. Mission and Vision
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  The approval of the mission and vision statements passed with a motion by Brenda Tincher and a second by Michelle Jackson and the consensus of the council.

Discussion

The Leadership team submitted a vision and mission statement for approval by SBDM.  The vision and mission statement was discussed and vote taken.

Discussion

Council discussed the mission and vision.  One thing they liked about the vision is it was three words, so it should be easy for students to remember.  Also, it builds.  First you have to believe, then you have to expect it to happen and then you will succeed.

3. Approval of Agenda

Motion Passed:  Approval of the agenda passed with a motion by Vicie Pelfrey and a second by Megan White and the consensus of the council.

5. New Business
5.1. Per KRS 61.80 (f) Consider approval of entering into closed session to discuss personnel matters related to the hiring of a teacher and assistant principal

Motion Passed:  Entering into closed session for interviews passed with a motion by Brenda Tincher and a second by Amy Hounshell and the consensus of the council.

5.2. Consider approval of resuming open session

Motion Passed:  Motion to return to open session passed with a motion by Vicie Pelfrey and a second by Michelle Jackson and the consensus of the council.

5.3. Actions resulting from closed session
Discussion

The council submitted a name for the teacher position, but will repost the position of assistant principal.


6. Budget/Finance
Discussion

The budget was discussed.  The council is working to find more support materials for reading.

6.1. SBDM Funds
Discussion

SBDM funds were reviewed.  There is still approximately 10.000 left in the budget.

6.2. District Activity Funds
Discussion

The district activity funds currently has approximately 12,000 remaining.

6.3. Title I Funds
Discussion

The council discussed ideas to purchase more materials to help students with reading and to get parents to be more involved with their child's learning.

7. Curriculum/Academics
7.1. After-school tutoring
Discussion

After school tutoring numbers remain low, around 20-35 per day.  After Acadience benchmarking the MTSS team and SBDM council will target and recruit students (and teachers) to tutoring.

7.2. Bobcat Parent Academy
Discussion

The council discussed a program to help parents help their students better at home.  The Bobcat Parent Academy will be a program that has parents and teachers collaborate throughout the year, share strategies and materials and join a google classroom for weekly ideas and support.

7.3. Acadience Winter Benchmark
Discussion

Students will complete the winter benchmark during the week of December 11-15.

9.1. Phase 3- Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
Discussion

The council discussed developing the new CSIP.  The Leadership team will start with looking at data and creating goals and strategies.  It will be revisited in December.

PTO will be having a craft bazaar in December as a fundraiser.
