2. Mission and Vision
Discussion

Council will work with stakeholders to create a mission and vision statement for the school.


Update- Teachers have started giving input for a mission and vision statement.

5.1. Guidance Counselor
Discussion

Nancy  Eversole has been selected for a central office position.  We will need to interview and hire a new guidance counselor.

5.2. First Grade Teacher
Discussion

Amy Hounshell has been selected for a Reading Recovery position.  We will need to interview and hire for her position.

5.3. Assistant Principal

The district has approved a position of assistant principal at BES.  We will need to interview and hire for that position.

5.4. SBDM Member

When we hire for the new first grade teacher, we will have to elect a new teacher member for the SBDM council.

6. Budget/Finance

Will work with finance office to get budget reports worked out.  They are not currently showing our school's funds.

Teachers would like to order classroom rugs.  Teachers will begin looking for the ones they wish to order.  

7. Curriculum/Academics
7.1. Reading Plans
Discussion

Teachers are working on Reading plans.  They are completing them for all students not performing at a proficiency level.  They are completing them in the OTUS program.

7.2. Voyager Passport- In-school tutoring
Discussion

Retired teachers and current instructional assistants are working with student in tier 2 intervention using the Voyager Passport program.  Teachers have 5 or less students per group and work with them for 30 minutes each day.  Instruction focuses on the 5 themes in the Science of Reading.

7.3. After-school tutoring
Discussion

We currently have 25 students signed up for after school tutoring.  We need to find a way to get more students to stay.

A needs assessment survey will be given to parents to look at data for the CSIP.  This will be done by the third week of October.  A survey will also be given to teachers concerning the mission and vision for BES.
