4. Financial Report
Discussion

Mr. Fugate discussed that at this time MRC had 63.64% remaining budget.  It was explained that, of course, the copier rental is what takes a large portion of the budget.  


SBDM Budget- Currently $5,700 remain.  Money needs to be allocated by the middle of May.  Ideas were discussed and a form will be sent to teachers to address needs they may have.  Programs, publications and equipment were discusses as possibilities for purchases, as well as office and school supplies.  Vanessa will work with us to order needed materials.

4.1. Draft budget for the 2021-2022 School Year

Mr. Fugate discussed the draft 2021-2022 budget.  The council decided to keep the budget similar to the current budget.

5. New Business

5.1. Minds in Motion Camp
Discussion

The council discussed the upcoming Minds in Motion Camp.  At this time, MRC does not have enough students signed up to qualify for a camp.  If enough students do not register, our students will combine with SES and if HT does not get enough students, them also.  Various announcements of different forms have been sent to parents concerning the summer opportunity.

5.2. SB 128
Discussion

Mr. Fugate discussed the SB 128 bill and how it could affect MRC.  Discussion included possible overcrowding of classes if a large group of students chose to use the supplemental year.  Parents have until May 1st to choose this option.  The board will vote to allow students to use the option by June.

5.3. Teacher SBDM Elections
Discussion

Teacher SBDM nominations will be taken between May 3 and May 7.  Election will take place in person on May 10.

5.4. Parent SBDM Election
Discussion

Parent SBDM nominations will be taken between May 3 and May 7.  Elections will be in person on May 10 between 7:45 and 4:00.

6. Review of 2020-2021 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
Discussion

The council discussed the CSIP and how it is being implemented with some students attending in person and some students attending virtually and being able to monitor the students. 


 



7. Academic Report

PLCs are continuing and teachers are beginning to review test taking skills before end of year testing.

7.1. KPREP Spring Testing
Discussion

The council discussed KPREP testing, which will begin next week.  All testing will be in person only.  It will also be taken on the computer for the first time.  The guidance counselor and front office staff are working to get students scheduled to come in for the test.


MAP testing for K-2 will take place the following week.  These test will be in person also.
