2. Review of Mission and Vision Statement
Discussion

Mission and vision were discussed. 

2.1. Mission- Making children Ready for a Changing World
2.2. Vision- Our vision is that every student will gain necessary knowledge and skills to succeed at their highest potential.
2.3. Beliefs- We believe all students can become lifelong learners, thinkers, and productive contributors to our society. It is our responsibility to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at a high level in a safe and secure learning environment.
3. Approval of Agenda

5. Financial Report
Discussion

Mr. Fugate discussed that he attempted to run the current budget but it was not available at this time.  He stated that he would contact someone at the CO to assist with this.


Mr. Fugate discussed that the active boards that had been purchased were in and had been put together.  He stated that we were just waiting on the technology department to come and complete the process of hooking them up.

6.1. Virtual Learning
Discussion

The council discussed that the first full week of hybrid learning had been completed and the process was running smoother.  The teachers and Mr. Fugate discussed the students are able to access the Google Classrooms now.


Mr. Fugate stated that he asked the teachers to report the students that are not participating so they could be contacted to figure out the problem.

6.2. Needs Assessment Diagnostic (Continuous Improvement Diagnostic) Due by October 1, 2020
Discussion

Mr. Fugate explained that the needs assessment goes along with the Comprehensive School Improvement Plan.  This is due by October 1st.

6.3. Student safety bag give away
Discussion

The council discussed that each student would be given a book bag with Covid-19 safety items (face masks, hand sanitizer, safe at school, water bottle, ear buds, etc.). Mr. Fugate stated the school will distribute these next week using proper social distancing protocol.

7. Review 2020-2021 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
Discussion

Mr. Fugate explained that the first step would be completing the needs assessment diagnostic.  


Mr. Fugate explained that he was talking with Stacey Davidson and continuing to receive guidance during virtual learning with the CSIP.  



8. Academic Report

8.1. Fall MAP testing
Discussion

The council discussed that Fall MAP testing would begin on September 17 and 18, virtually.  

For students that do not complete the testing, Mrs. Eversole will be sending a plan to the health department to be approved.  The students will be coming into school to do the testing, practicing social distancing, in the computer lab.

Mr. Fugate explained that the technology department would be placing someone at MRC close to full time, to assist in technology issues.  The council discussed a place for them to work and decided on the old computer lab in the back of the building.  This person will not begin being stationed here until the department have been moved out of the old LBJ building.


 


Mr. Fugate explained that banners and table clothes had arrived with MRC's brand.  The media backdrop had also arrived but we were still waiting on the frame.


 


The council discussed that Studies Weekly (Social Studies supplement) still had not been ordered, Mr. Fugate was waiting on final classroom numbers.


Mr. Fugate explained to the council that after further investigation, Reading A to Z was still active for another year.  So, the school would not to purchase that resource for this school year.
