2. Review of Mission and Vision Statement
Discussion

Mission and vision were discussed. 

2.1. Mission- Making children Ready for a Changing World
2.2. Vision- Our vision is that every student will gain necessary knowledge and skills to succeed at their highest potential.
2.3. Beliefs- We believe all students can become lifelong learners, thinkers, and productive contributors to our society. It is our responsibility to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at a high level in a safe and secure learning environment.
3. Approval of Agenda
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  The motion to approve the agenda passed with a motion by Mary Kay Caudill and a second by Mrs. Teresa Combs and the consensus of the council.

4. Approval of Minutes

Motion Passed:  The motion to accept the minutes was passed with a motion by Mrs. Teresa Combs and a second by Mary Kay Caudill and the consensus of the council.

5. Financial Report
Discussion

Mr. Fugate explained that he was going to meet with Stacy McKnight to reset his MUNIS account to be gain access to the needed reports.

He also explained that the SBDM trainings for all members were paid for and that totaled $180.  Some of these monies should be given back.

The council discussed moving monies from copier needs to other printing.  The council voted to move $8000 to other printing. A purchase order of $4424 has been submitted for copier rental fees for MR-C.   

Active boards have been purchased for K-1 classrooms and the 4/5 teacher.  This is a total of 5 active boards and totaled $8500.  Mr. Fugate discussed that the board will help out in purchasing these boards.  The boards were ordered on July 29, 2020 and usually take approximately 3 weeks to be delivered.


6. Emergency Plan

The council discussed the Emergency Plan for MR-C,  the plan was reviewed.

There were some updates that were discussed that needed to be made.  

7. New Business

7.1. Student placement
Discussion

The council discussed student placement.  At this time the board of education has voted to begin school using a hybrid model (4 days in person and 1 day online; Monday-Thursday will be in person and Friday will be online).


The parents had a choice to send their students back or to do online instruction.  At this time, 40% of students have noted they will attend in person and 60% will attend virtually.


The council discussed departmentalizing 4th-6th grade classes.  Each teacher will be responsible for teaching 2 subjects.  The teachers of these grades will meet soon to discuss scheduling.


Parent concern: will teachers be recording lessons to be viewed at a later time.  It was discussed that live streaming would be difficult due to internet quality.  These are all questions that will be finalized before school begins.

7.2. 2020-2021 MR-C SBDM Meeting Schedule

The council discussed meeting dates for the 2020-2021 school year.  It was determined that the meetings would take place the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 4:00.

7.3. 2020-2021 SBDM Council officers
Discussion

The council discussed officers for the SBDM for the 2020-2021 school year.


Teresa Combs nominated Marlene Hamilton for Secretary, Mary Kay Caudill seconded the nomination and all voted in favor.


Teresa Combs nominated Tammy Keene for Vice Chair Person, Mary Kay Caudill seconded the nomination and all voted in favor.


 

8. School schedule
Discussion

The council discussed the hours of the school day for the 2020-2021 school year.  The day will begin at 7:30 addend at 3:30.  The buses will begin unloading between 7:15-7:20.

9. KRS 158.183 Student Rights
Discussion

The council reviewed the student rights.

10. KRS 158.195 Display National Motto
Discussion

The council discussed the national motto being displayed in the buildings.  

11. Review 2020-2021 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan

Mr. Fugate explained at this time we do have an update for the CSIP due to school being out due to COVID-19.

12. Academic Report

The 2020-2021 school year will begin soon and MR-C is excited to see all the students return for another amazing year as REDSKINS!!
