2. Review of Mission and Vision Statement
Discussion

Mission and vision were discussed. 

2.1. Mission- Making children Ready for a Changing World
2.2. Vision- Our vision is that every student will gain necessary knowledge and skills to succeed at their highest potential.
2.3. Beliefs- We believe all students can become lifelong learners, thinkers, and productive contributors to our society. It is our responsibility to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at a high level in a safe and secure learning environment.
3. Approval of Agenda

4. Approval of Minutes
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  The motion to accept the April meeting minutes passed with a motion by Mrs. Teresa Combs and a second by Marlene Hamilton and the consensus of the council.

5. Financial Report
Discussion

Mr. Fugate discussed that for the most part, at this time, all current monies have been spent.  However, he explained that money had been saved to pay for the copier expenses for the remainder of the school year.


Data notebooks have been purchased for all students.


He also discussed that he turned in a the budget for the upcoming school year that was discussed during the last meeting. (Registration fees $200, copier expenses $5000, postage $900, other printing $4000, general supplies $7257, library $500, computer and computer supplies $5000)


 

6. New Business
6.1. NTI Update
Discussion

The council discussed that NTI was concluded.  Mr. Fugate reported that the students had between 95-96% participation on a daily basis completing the assignments/tasks.

7. Review 2020-2021 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
Discussion

Mr. Fugate explained at this time we do have an update for the CSIP due to school being out due to COVID-19.

8. Academic Report
8.1. Student achievement (MR-C Virtual Showcase)
Discussion

The council discussed the very unique MR-C Showcase for this school year.  Each teacher gave their students a topic and they had to complete a presentation or activity and submit it to the teacher online. Then the completed projects were shared on the MR-C Facebook page.  


The students all did a wonderful job and worked hard on the projects.  The council is very proud of all of MR-C students!!


 


 


 


 


 



9. Curriculum Update
Discussion

The council discussed that teachers were completing Team meeting during the Teacher Work Days.  The teachers are completing vertical meetings with the teachers above and below their grades to discuss plans for the 2020-2021 school year.


The teachers had to choose 4 different 1 hour sessions during the Ed Camp to participate in during the Teacher Work Days.  MR-C would like to recognize Deana Spencer, Alonzo Fugate, Henry Turner, Amy Gabbard, and Christy Taulbee for being presenters during the Ed Camp. Great Job, MR-C!!!



10. SBDM Teacher Election for 2020-2021 School Year
Discussion

Margaret Henson headed the teacher nomination process for the 2020-2021 school year.  The elected teachers were Tammy Keene, Mary Kay Caudill, and Marlene Hamilton.

11. Informational items
Discussion

Mr. Fugate discussed that the PTO will be over the parent SBDM representatives.  He explained the process will be completed virtually using survey monkey and will be completed within the next week.


The council discussed looking at numbers for placement of students for the 2020-2021 school year.


Kindergarten-35 at least students; 1st grade-41 students; 2nd grade-45 students; 3rd grade-30 students; 4th grade-30 students; 5th grade 37 students; and 6th grade 29 students


At this time we have 10 teachers, with the possibility of 1 additional.  With numbers this large, the council may need to look at departmentalizing the intermediate grades.
