1. Roll Call
2. Review of Mission and Vision Statement
Discussion

Mission and vision were discussed. 

2.1. Mission- Making children Ready for a Changing World
2.2. Vision- Our vision is that every student will gain necessary knowledge and skills to succeed at their highest potential.
2.3. Beliefs- We believe all students can become lifelong learners, thinkers, and productive contributors to our society. It is our responsibility to ensure all students have the opportunity to learn at a high level in a safe and secure learning environment.
3. Approval of Agenda
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  The motion to accept the agenda passed with a motion by Marlene Hamilton and a second by Mrs. Teresa Combs and the consensus of the council.

4. Approval of Minutes
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  The motion to accept the minutes from the previous meeting passed with a motion by Mrs. Teresa Combs and a second by Mary Kay Caudill and the consensus of the council.

5. Financial Report
Discussion

Mr. Fugate discussed with the council about budgeting money out for the upcoming school year.  One option the council discussed was increasing the amount in "other printing" to pat for copier expenses. The council discussed reallocating funds from some areas into other areas to make the budget more efficient.


Mr. Fugate discussed the way the money was spent after discussions at the last meeting.  He explained that items for the office and teacher use had been purchased, picnic tables for the interior area of the building for student use, 20 Chromebooks have been purchased for 3rd grade, new keyboards and mice have been ordered for the new computer lab, and checklists for standards have been ordered from KASC for the teachers to use.  He discussed that cases for new iPads haven't been purchased yet but will be ordered, as discussed during the last meeting.


 


 


 


 


 

6. New Business
6.1. NTI Update
Discussion

The council discussed that May 7th would be the last day of school for the students for the 2019-2020 school year.  May 26th would be closing day for teachers, with no school on May 25th in observance of Memorial Day.

7. Review 2020-2021 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan
Discussion

Mr. Fugate explained that an update was not available at this time due to NTI days being utilized due to COVID-19.

8. Academic Report
Discussion

The council discussed the students still achieving success through ALEKS and Lexia goals, some students are even moving beyond their grade level in both programs.  GO REDSKINS!!!

9. Curriculum Update
Discussion

The council discussed grading policy for the 4th 9 weeks since it was completely under NTI instruction.  It was agreed upon that grades for grade 1-6 would be given using 80% weekly participation and 20% for percentage of assignments successfully completed.





10. MR-C Branding
Actions Taken

Motion Passed:  The motion to accept the new mascot for MR-C passed with a motion by Mrs. Teresa Combs and a second by Marlene Hamilton and the consensus of the council.

Discussion

Each of the schools in the Breathitt County Schools will be utilizing a branded mascot, MR-C will use three different versions of the Indian.  

11. Informational items
Discussion

The council discussed the students still participating in a virtual MR-C Showcase.  Each grade will choose a topic, the students will complete a project based on the topic, and then present it electronically to be showcased on the MR-C school Facebook page.
