Mr. Kirby Smith, Superintendent –

Most all ACT scores for our juniors are in and it looks as though we will have an overall composite somewhere between 19.3-19.6. Last year our composite score was 19.3.

CES Spring Fest hosted by CES PTA and CES staff raised right at $8,000 Friday night.

GSP for this year - Cole Kidwell, Zoe McAninch, Emily Rodgers and Katelyn Miller.

Baseball team won the Class A region Saturday afternoon and will play Holy Cross Saturday at 12:00 in the state sectional game.

Crews spent spring break installing a new wood floor in the multipurpose room at CMS. The floor looks great! Our guys have painted and added new lighting – looks awesome!!

Three of the four rooms in the Eagle Center of Innovation are complete. We have one more room to complete and both restrooms and then we will be ready to go. Mr. Kidwell, Mr. Parker and I met last week with all four iEagle teachers to discuss technology. Also, Mr. Kidwell is working with teachers to get furniture ordered.

CMS students have begun using the new science lab this week.

Today was the deadline for students to turn in their application for iEagle. We had applications turned in for grades 3-6.

We should hear something by April 22 on whether or not we were awarded the New Skills for Youth Grant.

Our CU Excellence in Teaching award recipients this year are: CES- Ms. Kaye Agathen, CMS- Ms. Katie Wilkerson, and CHS- Mr. Tyler Hardy. They will be recognized May 11th at CU.

Mr. Tyler Hardy is our representative for the Chamber of Commerce Educator of the year and he will be recognized on April 30th at the Chamber meeting.

Testing schedule for each school: CES- May 7-13, CMS- May 13-17, and CHS- May 6-10.

The Aspiring Administrators session were well attended with an average of 11 teachers attending.

Just a reminder that every Friday from here on out will be full instructional days.

The LPC will meet on Monday April 29 to finalize the District Facilities Plan so therefore the plan should be on the agenda for the May board meeting.
