Chairperson called the meeting to order at 4:00 PM.

Motion Passed:  Adoption of the agenda passed with a motion by Melissa Smith and a second by Rhonda Cole.

Motion Passed:  Adoption of the minuted from May 29, 2020 meeting passed with a motion by Karen McIntosh and a second by Melissa Smith.

Chairperson shared with the council that there were approximately 60 percent of the 150 parents that had completed the survey had registered their students to begin the school year online.  Chairperson also discussed the number of in person students that can be housed in each room and meet the required CDC and local health department guidelines.  Chairperson also discussed the need to prepare for virtual and in person learning and the importance of communicating to parents that School Based Virtual would not be the same as NTI day expectations.  

Chairperson reviewed the goals and explained that all the preparations for this school year would revolve around our CSIP goals and striving to meet these goals.  

Motion Passed:  Approval of the Emergency Plan for the 2020-2021 school year passed with a motion by Rhonda Cole and a second by Karen McIntosh.

Motion Passed:  Approval of the meeting dates for the SBDM 2020-2021 school year passed with a motion by Melissa Smith and a second by Rhonda Cole.

Chairperson discussed possible meeting dates and times for the council for the 2020-2021 school year.  The members decided to conduct their meeting at 7:00 AM on the third Thursday of each month.  

Motion Passed:  Approval of the 2020-2021 School Day passed with a motion by Melissa Smith and a second by Karen McIntosh.

Chairperson discussed the start and end times for the 2020-2021 school year.  Chairperson stated that the start and end times would have to adjust to allow the buses time to get to BHS for their beginning time.  That included a 20 minute increase in the day for our school.  The school day will be 7:30 AM-3:30 PM.

Motion Passed:  Approval of the 2020-2021 student handbook passed with a motion by Rhonda Cole and a second by Karen McIntosh.

Chairperson discussed the student handbook and pointed out some minor changes to the handbook.  

Motion Passed:  Approval of budgets passed with a motion by Karen McIntosh and a second by Melissa Smith.

Chairperson discussed all SBDM and Activity Budgets with the council and items that were included in those amounts. 

Chairperson shared the new Title 1 budget and discussed how those totals were calculated and the amount that was allocated for each item in the budget.  Chairperson also stated that any of those items could be adjusted as needed at the meetings.

Chairperson discussed the need for communication during the process.  We will communicate the information to parents and students as we receive the information.
