Breathitt County Board of Education Special/Emergency Board Meeting
I. Call to Order/Roll Call
II. Discussion of Historic Flooding
III. Consider approval of declaring an emergency with regard to flooding at the Breathitt High School campus, including but not limited to BHS Coliseum, Football field, Football den, Football concession stand, agriculture container, green house, storage buildings, parking lots, Bus garage/maintenance shop, Area Technology Center and Etc.
Actions Taken

Order #37 - Motion Passed:  Based upon the recommendation of Superintendent Phillip Watts, approval of declaring an emergency with regard to flooding at the Breathitt High School campus, including but not limited to BHS Coliseum, Football field, Football den, Football concession stand, agriculture container, greenhouse, storage buildings, parking lots, Bus garage/maintenance shop, Area Technology Center and Etc, passed with a motion by Mr. Albert Little and a second by Ms. Anna Morris.

IV. Consider approval of amending the 2022-2023 calendar start for students from August 11 to August 18, 2022. Subject to changes and revisions. The Calendar will be reviewed and amended again as needed, throughout the recovery process.

The Calendar will be reviewed and amended again as needed, throughout the recovery process, passed with a motion by Ms. Anna Morris and a second by Mr. Albert Little.

V. Consider approval of equipment rental as necessary to help with flood cleanup.

Order #39 - Motion Passed:  Based upon the recommendation of Superintendent Phillip Watts, approval of equipment rental is necessary to help with flood cleanup passed with a motion by Mr. Albert Little and a second by Ms. Anna Morris.

VI. Consider approval of authorizing the superintendent to approve facilities usage requests with outside groups to assist with community recovery efforts.

Order #40 - Motion Passed:  Based upon the recommendation of Superintendent Phillip Watts, approval of authorizing the superintendent to approve facilities usage requests with outside groups to assist with community recovery efforts, passed with a motion by Mr. Albert Little and a second by Ms. Anna Morris.
