The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Larry Muse. Also present were Don Neal, Superintendent and Gordan Germain, Board Counsel.

3. Recognition
Discussion

Superintendent, Don Neal shared that the High School Marching Band scored highest they have scored since 2019, on October 14th at South Laurel High School competing with thirteen (13) other bands. 

Superintendent, Don Neal shared that the High School Boys Soccer Team made history by winning the 48th District Championship. 

Superintendent, Don Neal shared that the High School Girls Soccer Team on being runners up in 48th District Tournament.

Both Boys and Girls High School Soccer Teams competed in first round of Region play. The Boys Soccer Team hosted the Boys Region.

Superintendent, Don Neal shared that High School Senior, Kelsay Collins competed in the Girls Golf State Tournament and has announced her plans in signing with Midway College.

Superintendent, Don Neal shared that 7th grade Kooper Gehring advanced to both the middle and high school golf state tournaments. 

Superintendent, Don Neal shared Cross Country hosted Cave Lake Fall Classic on Oct 14, 2023 for Elementary, Middle and High School runners. Wayne County HS Freshman, Ryder Bell Placed first in the High School Boys 5K Run. 

Saturday, October 21,2023 Wayne County will be hosting Cross Country Class AA Region 5 at Cave Lake, Monticello, KY.

Discussion

Superintendent, Don Neal informed the board and audience of Wayne County High School Students' Art Exhibition and Silent Auction (Small Town, Big Heart) at The Nest Creative Arts Studio. 55 W Columbia Ave, Monticello, KY October 15th- Nov 4th, 2023. Board members were given flyers about the event. 


Board members were also given flyers regarding 21st Century, Lights on Afterschool Event (Unleash the Magic Within), Thursday October 26, 2023 @ 4:00-6:00 p.m.
