Superintendent Roberts gave Board Members a brief update regarding the Portrait of Success project. Administrators met with our Community Advisory Committee in January, shared the draft with employees, and are rolling it out at parent engagement events throughout the month of February. Early feedback has been very positive. We are planning to have a luncheon for community and business leaders on March 8th at Noon. This will give us a chance to get feedback from a broader range of community partners ahead of the final approval of the portrait.
Lincoln Theinert, Vice President of RSA Advisors, was in attendance to share Wayne County Schools' updated future Bonding Potential. A copy may be found in the Minute Abstract Files # 86.
Instructional Coach Ms. Amanda Beck shared a presentation on LETRS (Language Essentials for teachers and Administrators of Reading and Spelling). LETRS is a comprehensive and rigorous training for educators and administrators (K-5) and focuses on how the brain learns to read, write, and spell. The goal of using and promoting Wayne County teachers to become LETRS certified is to make all of our K-5 teachers literacy and language experts.
