Public Comment on the Second Reading and Approval of the Student Privacy Board Policy 09.141 Requested by Teresa Combs, Legal Counsel and recommended by Dr. Diane Hatchett, Superintendent.
Senate Bill 150 of the most recent session of the Kentucky General Assembly requires school boards, after allowing public comment at an open meeting, to adopt a policy necessary to protect the privacy rights for students established by SB 150. the Kentucky General Assembly
Policy Text Recommended by KSBA: A student who asserts to school officials that his or her gender is different from his or her biological sex and whose parent or legal guardian provides written consent to school officials shall be provided with the best available accommodation but that accommodation shall not include the use of school restrooms, locker rooms, or shower rooms designated for use by the students of the opposite biological sex while students of the opposite biological sex are present or could be present. Acceptable accommodations may include but are not limited to access to single-stall restrooms or controlled use of faculty bathroom, locker rooms, or shower rooms.

Motion to Approve the Student Privacy Board Policy 09.141 Requested by Teresa Combs, Legal Counsel and recommended by Dr. Diane Hatchett, Superintendent.

Recess the Special Called July 17, 2023 Meeting of the Berea Board of Education
Motion to recess. The Special Called Berea Independent Board of Education Meeting will recess at this time and the Berea Independent School District Finance Corporation will convene in a Special Called Meeting in order to approve a resolution associated with entering a contract lease for issue of bonds. Recommended and requested by Dr. Diane Hatchett, Superintendent
