Rationale

Attached is the 2022-23 audit report.  Each year the local board of education must approve the financial audit.

I would recommend approval of the 2022-23 audit as presented.

V.B. 2024-25 District Calendar
Rationale

Pursuant to KRS 158.070, each local board of education shall adopt a calendar for the upcoming school year.  Previously, two options from the local calendar committee were presented for review.   

You will find the recommended 2024-2025 school calendar attached for your approval.  The local calendar committee has reviewed and supports this calendar recommendation.

I would recommend approval of the 2024-2025 school calendar as presented.

V.C. Surplus Food Service Equipment
Rationale

Attached is a memo from Pendleton County Food Service Director, Mrs. Lisa Mitchell, regarding the need to surplus items.

Before disposing of outdated or unused items the district is required to identify those items and officially declare them as surplus property.  Mrs. Mitchell is requesting to surplus outdated kitchen equipment that is currently costing her more money to maintain than it would to purchase new equipment.  Once the item is declared surplus I will work with Mrs. Mitchell to dispose of it appropriately per board procedure.  

I would recommend approval of this request to surplus the kitchen equipment Mrs. Mitchell has listed in her memo.

V.D. AED Surplus
Rationale

Attached is a memo from our Assistant Superintendent, Mr. Matt Compton, regarding the need to surplus items.

Before disposing of outdated or unused items the district is required to identify those items and officially declare them as surplus property.  The district has recently taken advantage of an opportunity to purchase new AED units district while getting a rebate for our old units.  Mr. Compton is requesting to surplus 8 outdated AED units in order to receive the available rebate.  Once the item is declared surplus ship the old units back to the company in order to take advantage of the rebate.  

I would recommend approval of this request to surplus the AED units as outlined by Mr. Compton in his memo.

V.E. Acceptance of Donation
Rationale

Attached is a memo from our Athletic Director, Mr. Jon Wirth, regarding a donation to the Pendleton County Ladycat Basketball Program.    

Board policy requires any donation over $1000.00 dollars to be accepted by the board of education.  The Athletic Department has received a donation valued over $1000.00 therefore it needs board approval.

The donation is for $1,500.00 from Consolidated Construction.  

The donation is earmarked for new black uniforms for the PCHS Ladycat basketball team.

I would recommend the board accept the donations.

Attached is a resolution authorizing the Pendleton County School District Finance Corportation to issue revenue bonds, execute a lease and related documents between the Pendleton County Board of Education and the Pendleton County School District Finance Corporation and to accept an SFCC Offer of Assistance.

I would recommend the board approve the resolution as submitted.
