Representatives from Studio Kremer and BCD, Inc. will discuss status of Punch Lists for recently completed renovations and additions at Nelson County High School, the Vocational School and athletic facilities. They will also update current status of renovations and additions at Foster Heights Elementary as well as progress of design work for Nelson County West High School.

Final Payment: Bid Package #8 - NCHS/Vocational
U.S. Specialties has completed all contractual obligations for Bid Package 8, Doors/Frames/Hardware, for the renovation of Nelson County High School and the Vocational School. All work has been inspected by architects, construction manager, and owners and found acceptable. Final payment is $9,320.40.
Motion Passed: Action to approve final payment to U.S. Specialties, in the amount of $9320.40, for bid package # 8, Doors, Frames and Hardware, for the renovations at Nelson County High School and Vocational School was passed with a motion by Mr. Nicky Rapier and a second by Mr. Damon Jackey.

Final Payment: Bid Package #6 - NCHS/Vocational
The Zero Company has completed all contractual obligations for Bid Package 6, Roofing and Sheet Metal, for the renovation of Nelson County High School and Vocational School. All work has been inspected by architects, construction manager, and owners and found acceptable. Final payment is $84,418.21.
Motion Withdrawn: Action to approve final payment to The Zero Company, in the amount of $84,418.21, for bid package #6, Roofing and Sheet Metal, for the renovations at Nelson County High School and Vocational School was was withdrawn by Vivian Fleenor.

Final Payment: Roofing - Foster Heights
The Young Group has completed all contractual obligations for the roofing of the Muir Avenue section of Foster Heights Elementary. All work has been inspected by architects, construction manager, and owners and found acceptable. Final payment is $25,835.08.
Motion Passed: Action to approve final payment to The Young Group, in the amount of $25,835.08, for roofing of the Muir Avenue section of Foster Heights Elementary, was passed with a motion by Mr. Adam Wheatley and a second by Mr. Damon Jackey.

Food Service Audit
The Nelson County Board of Education School Nutrition Department was audited from the State Department the week of Feb.9, 2009. This audit is done every (4) years and it covered all areas of the food service operation including visiting individual schools.
VI.E.
District Financial Auditor Selection
It is recommended that the Nelson County Board of Education approve the audit contract as submitted by Brown and Co for fiscal 2008-2009. Other local firms were contacted but were uninterested at this time.
Motion Passed: Action to approve the selection of Brown & Co. as District Financial Auditor was passed with a motion by Mr. Nicky Rapier and a second by Mr. Adam Wheatley.

NCEA proposes that Nelson County Schools Policy 8.2323 be amended by removing item five (5) of the EMPLOYEE USE section of the Access to Electronic Media (Acceptable Use Policy).

Horizons Audit
A summary report of the Horizons program for the 2008-09 school year will be presented. This report will include the progress of the goals that were outlined during last year’s board presentation. It will also address the suggestions that were given to us during the alternative school audit we participated in.

Scholastic Review
The Nelson County Schools participated in a District Review during the week of March 1-6, 2009. Documents for review and a presentation at the board meeting will include a summary of the findings and a review of the recommendations for next steps.
