Unbridled Careers - Career Cruising - ILP
Kim Brown
On Wednesday, April 15, 2015 The Herlihy Group and KDE worked with the Nelson and Washington County School Districts here at the Central Office on our newest College and Career Readiness Initiative. The program enables teachers/counselors to facilitate student learning and interest in careers through an online format. The program will connect students to:
- an interest inventory,
- online daily communication with professionals in a variety of careers,
- information to satisfy the Individual Learning Plan,
- opportunities to set up and participate in career learning activities where they might get more information concerning their interests from a variety of professionals,
- other worthwhile course like activities targeting Career Readiness.
The April 15th training was the second training conducted in Kentucky. The Nelson County Schools are one of 22 districts in the state with this program available to our student population. At this time, we will begin the application of the program as a pilot. Full implementation is scheduled for Fall 2015.
