Good News – March 2014

 Rachel Tichenor, 8th grader at Bloomfield Middle School, will now be representing us as the Kentucky Junior Beta Secretary! Their skit placed 1st at State and they will compete at Nationals in June. 

 Three 5th grade students at Boston who competed in the district Governor's Cup on Saturday, March 1st will advance to regional competition: Stone Boone, Lindsey Maulden, and Alex Riggs.

 CCES took second place in the district academic team competition on February 22. Going on to regional competition on March 22 in Marion County will be Alex Fell, Tori Davis, Parker Hall, Carson Mouser, Holden Underwood, Brooke Stumph and Emily Knapp.

Future Problem Solving - Carson Mouser, Jenna Minter, Adam Thomas, and Tori Davis.

In addition, the Hume Sportsmanship Award was awarded to Cox's Creek Elementary

Michael Hawkins, a junior that is shared between Horizons and Thomas Nelson, won the regional VICA contest in the field of auto mechanics. He will advance to the state competition in April.

NCHS congratulates Jake Price on receiving a Silver Key award in the National Scholastic Art competition.

NCHS Lady Cards won the 19th District Championship.

NCHS Senior, Zack Lawson won the region title in the heavyweight wrestling competition.

The following NCHS students attained awards in the Regional Skills Competition for the Area Tech Center:

New Haven 6th grade Boys Recreation Basketball Team won the Championship!

OKHMS boys were 6A Basketball Champions!

Mrs. Palumbo has been selected as the My Favorite Teacher Contest winner for the Elizabethtown Barnes & Noble Booksellers.  The winning essay was written by Kaylee Edelen in the sixth grade.  The entry will be sent to the district and regional competitions. 

The following TNHS students attained awards in the Regional Skills Competition for the Area Tech Center last Friday:

Ricky Cecil in Technical Drawing - 1st place

Michael Hawkins in Auto Service Technician - 1st place

Nathan Zabrecky for Job Interview - 1st place

Kevn Ndahiro received his frist Division 1 College Basketball Scholarship offer to Stetson University.

AJ Youngman has now received 5 Division 1 College Basketball Scholarship offers: Boston College, West Virginia University, U of Portland, Northern Kentucky University, and U of Texas-Arlington.
