1. Superior Titan Award- A student from each school (Mercer Elementary, Mercer Co. Intermediate School, King Middle, and Mercer County Senior High School) will be recognized each month at the board of education meetings for their efforts in the classroom, leadership skills and attitude. The student award recipient must meet the following guidelines:

  • Perfect attendance during the month student(s) are being observed.
  • Completed all homework assignments and tests.
  • Passing grade.
  • No discipline issues.
  • Demonstrates good leadership skills.
  • Exhibits a winning attitude and spirit toward learning and peers.

February 2022 General Fund Recap


-Ending GF Cash Balance:
o $ 6.8 million as opposed to $7.4 million last February

- General Fund Revenue:
o Overall revenue was 5.75% higher as opposed to last February, including the beginning balance.
o Receipts received in the year are down 1.73% compared to the prior year at the same time.
o Received 79% of the overall revenue that was budgeted for the year, including the beginning balance.
o Received 70.8% of the receipts that were budgeted for the year.
               -Due to February being 66.7% through the fiscal year, these numbers indicate the district will
               receive more revenue than budgeted.

- General Fund Expenditures:
o Up 11% compared to the prior year
o Expenses of $1.85 million in February
         - Main increase due to KISTA Lease Payments of $264,586.78
o Expended 55.3% of the budgeted expenses for the year.
o Expended and encumbered 63.6% of the budgeted expenses for the year.
         - Due to January being 66.7% through the fiscal year, these numbers indicate the district will
expend less than budgeted in the fiscal year.

The district currently owns a parcel of land on East Factory Street with the approximate acreage of 6.55. In order to entertain offers to sell this property the board needs to deem it as surplus property.

This property is not currently on the District Facilities Plan for use of any kind. Once the property is deemed as surplus, the district will submit a request for approval from KDE to dispose of the property and sell it.

  • June 2: Professional Day for teachers in the 22-23 calendar year
