Superintendents Report

August 16, 2018

  • I want to first start-off by thanking our students, parents, staff, and administrators for a wonderful start to the school year.We have a great week and a day.It was so enjoyable watching our staff interact with parents and students.I have seen our staff building relationships much more than any other year.Thank you!
  • Each of you have a magazine on your desk.It is a copy of the Kentucky School Advocate, which is a publication of the Kentucky School Boards Association. This is a magazine that is distributed throughout the 173 school districts across the state of Kentucky. If you will look at the front page, you will notice Makenzie Ezell, a Mercer County student who just graduated on the front cover.KSBA did an article on Miranda Goodlett’s Teacher Training program at the high school which prepares those students for the education field.Mercer County actually has four full pages on the magazine.Congratulations to Mrs. Miranda Goodlett and the high school for such a wonderful program.
  • HOVERCAMS – well, it has been an adventure but we have almost installed all the 96 HOVERCAMS across the district.MCES and MCIS had all their HOVERCAMS up and functional this past Monday.King Middle School will be complete next Monday.I have received nothing but praise from our teachers. They love the HOVERCAM board. If you get a chance, please stop by one of the schools and look at one of the interactive boards in action. They are amazing.
