Discussion

This is the annual policy and procedures updates as provided by KSBA Policy Service.  The policy and procedure updates reflect legislative changes that are required and keep the district in compliance with all statutes and regulations.  Policy adoptions require two readings and procedures require one.  Pursuant to board policy 1.5, policies may be adopted in one reading in emergency situations when reflected in the board minutes.  A majority of the changes reflected in the updates become effective on July 14th due to new legislation requiring an emergency reading and adoption of all policies.  Also, HB 563 amended KRS 158.120 to require that by July 1, 2022 local boards adopt a nonresident pupil policy to govern the terms under which the district shall allow enrollment of nonresident pupils.  Written agreements will no longer be necessary.  It is the recommendation that the district allow nonresident students to enroll.
