This meeting of the Board of Education was called at the request of David Kitchens, Terry Watson, and Dennis Fleet to consider the issue of resuming in-person classes.  Meeting protocols and norms were presented.

Order #623 - Motion Passed:  A motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting passed with a motion by Mrs. Terry Watson and a second by Mr. Dennis Fleet.

Public comments may be limited to three minutes per person. In-person comments were made by: Stacy Walker, Tracie Case, and Jennifer Johnson.  Written comments were submitted to the Board and read aloud; they were submitted by:  Allison Smith, Scott Turner, Lily Lamb, Tracie Case, LasShawna Peo, Jim Parks, Amber Friederich, and Amber Whited.  Comments pertained to the resumption of in-person class prior to September 28th.

Order #624 - Motion Failed:  A motion to have in-person classes, beginning on August 18, 2020, for those students whose parents choose to participate in in-person learning failed with a motion by Mr. Dennis Fleet and a second by Mr. David Kitchens.

The Kentucky Commissioner of Education echoed the recommendation of Governor Beshear to not resume in-person classes until September 28th.  Significant discussion took place.
