3.a. Data Presentation
Rationale

Assessment, Accountability, & Student Data Director, Ms. Tracy Griffin, will present the 2023 Impact Data    

3.b. Surplus Items at Kings Mt. Elementary
Rationale

Board member Ms. Gloria Sneed is requesting approval to surplus the bookshelves and benches at Kings Mt. Elementary and donate them to the Broughtentown Community Center  

3.c. Food Service Items for Surplus
Rationale

The Food Service department requests approval to declare the following items as surplus and take them to the recycling center: 1 ice machine, 2 food cutters, 2 holding cabinets, 1 heated cabinet, 1 tilt skillet, and combi oven parts. 

3.d. External Booster Club for Archery
Rationale

Coach Jeremy Pope requests permission to form an external booster club for the middle and high school archery program. 

3.e. Amended 2023-24 School Calendar
Rationale

On January 23, 2024 the District had a snow day.  Therefore the current calendar must be amended to make up this day and requires Board approval.  

3.f. 2025-2026 School Calendar
Rationale

The Calendar Committee met to discuss options for the 2025-26 school year.  After a lengthy discussion, a calendar was recommended for adoption. 

3.g. 2024-2025 Student Handbook
Rationale

Online registration begins in the next few weeks.  The student handbook needs to be approved for the 2024-2025 school year so it is available as part of the registration process.  

3.h. 2024 LCHS Graduation Date
Rationale

Lincoln County High School is requesting Board approval to waive the section in Board policy 08.113 which states 'graduation exercises shall be held on the evening following the final day of classes for seniors' and set the 2024 graduation date for Friday, May 17th at 7 p.m. in the J.C. Eddleman Gymnasium.   

3.i. Core Reading Program for Elementary
Rationale

Per amendments to KRS 158.305 as part of Senate Bill 156 (2023), by July 1 2024, 'each superintendent...shall adopt a common comprehensive reading program that is determined by the department to be reliable, valid, and aligned to reading and writing standards...for kindergarten through grade three (3) for all schools or a subset of schools, with consultation of all affected elementary school councils."  

In order to provide all elementary students with a High Quality Instructional Resource, it is in the best interest of students to adopt a core reading program for all students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth (5th) grade, as well as, an aligned program to meet the needs of students who require reading interventions and students in the Exceptional Child population.
