2.a. Window Option for Middle School Connector
Rationale

Discussion on the window schemes submitted by RossTarrant.  On the public side of the corridor, RossTarrant has developed four schemes with various window sizes, an opaque panel option, and a vinyl graphic option.

2.b. Fee List
Rationale

In accordance with Redbook and our policy 09.15, the board shall annually adopt and publish a fee

schedule for elementary and secondary schools. Approved fees shall remain in place until modified or

removed by board resolution

2.c. Unite Service Corp MOU
Rationale

Review and discuss the Memorandum of Understanding with Unite Services Corps of Operation UNITE to provide AmeriCorps members to schools. AmeriCorps members provide math tutoring and drug education activities to elementary students. Cost for each member is $6,300 to be paid with school instructional funds.

2.g. 2022-2023 ARC District Representatives
Rationale

Board policy requires a list of district representatives, who can serve as the Admission and Release Committee (ARC) chair,  be presented to the Board annually.  This list is presented with the specific positions rather than individual names.  In the event a position is filled by a new person, he or she will receive training from the local cooperative.  The 2022-2023 positions designated as District Representatives (ARC Chairs) at Admissions and Release Committee meetings are:

  • Director of Special Education
  • Chief Academic Officers
  • Special Education Lead Teachers
  • Preschool Director
  • Principal
  • Assistant Principal
  • Guidance Counselor
  • Families, Health, and Disabilities Manager 

2.h. 2022-2023 District Representatives for 504 Meetings
Rationale

Board policy requires a list of district representatives, who can serve as the Section 504 chair,  be presented to the Board annually.  This list is presented with the specific positions rather than individual names.  In the event a position is filled by a new person, he or she will receive training from the local cooperative.  The 2022-2023 positions designated as District Representatives (504 Chairs) are:

2.i. Services for Deaf and Hearing Impaired Students
Rationale

The District is responsible for providing assistance to all students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.  Ms. Katherine Davis provided services, as needed, during the 2021-2022 school year and the Special Education department was pleased with her work. The District requests approval of a contract with Ms. Davis to continue providing Deaf and Hard of Hearing services through the 2022-2023 school year. The cost of $65.00 per hour will be paid with District Special Education funds.  Ms. Davis maintains insurance coverage. 

2.j. Services for Blind and Visually Impaired Students
Rationale

The District is responsible for providing assistance to all students who are Blind or Visually Impaired.  Read Braille Inc. has provided services, as needed, for several years and the Special Education department has been pleased with their work. The District requests approval of a contract with Read Braille Inc. to continue providing Blind and Visually Impaired services through the 2022-2023 school year. The cost of $80.00 per hour will be paid with District Special Education funds.  Read Braille Inc. maintains insurance coverage. 

2.k. Working Meetings
Rationale

Discuss the purpose and set-up of Working Board Meetings. If Working Board Meetings are not producing the results desired, should the Board expend tax payer funds to continue them?
