6.a. Final Section 7 Staffing Policy for 2021-2022
Rationale

There has been one change to the formula since the tentative Section 7 Staffing Policy approved in February.  Enrollment for a 215 day secretary/bookkeeper was changed to 301 - 475, and enrollment for a  240 day secretary/bookkeeper was changed to 476 -1,000.

6.b. Final Section 4 & Section 5 Staffing Policy for 2021-2022
Rationale

There have been no changes since the tentative approval in February. 

6.c. Indirect Cost Rates
Rationale

Indirect cost rates are set by the Kentucky Department of Education and approved by the Kentucky Board of Education.  The 2021-2022 rates for Lincoln County will be:

  • Non-restricted rate for food service: 13.92% 
  • Restricted rate for federal grants: 2.36%

6.d. Advertise for Yearbook Bids for LCMS
6.e. Certified Athletic Trainer Contract Renewal
6.f. SBDM at Waynesburg Elementary
Rationale

Waynesburg Elementary was previously identified for Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) and the authority of its SBDM council was transferred to the superintendent. A school's right to establish a council granted under KRS 160.345 may be restored by the local board of education two (2) years after the school exits CSI status (KRS 160.346(15)). The school exited CSI status on October 1, 2019; therefore, your school is eligible for the reinstatement of SBDM authority after October 1, 2021. Eligibility for the reinstatement of SBDM authority is at the discretion of the local board of education.

6.g. NTI Plan for 2021-2022 School Year
Rationale

The district is eligible for ten (10) NonTraditional Instruction days during the 2021-2022 school year. The NTI plan requires board approval annually. 

6.h. Family, Health, & Disabilities Manager

Job description was rewritten to better match the job duties and Head Start program standards

6.i. Playground Equipment for Crab Orchard and Waynesburg
Rationale

Preschool is requesting permission to purchase playground equipment for Crab Orchard and Waynesburg with a cost of over $30,000.

6.j. MOA with Berea College
Rationale

The Memorandum of Agreement with Berea College must be approved annually so they can send student teachers to our district. 

6.k. 2021-2022 Student Handbook

6.l. Bids for Services
Rationale

The District would like to award the following contracts for services for the 2021-2022 school year:

  • American Fire & Security for Fire Protection - contract renewable for an additional two years 
  • Pepsi Cola for Cold Drink Vending- contract renewable for an additional two years 
  • Guardian Exterminating for Pest Control- contract renewable for an additional two years 
  • C & N Vending for Snack Vending- contract renewable for an additional two years 
  • Republic Services for Garbage Pickup and Disposal- contract renewable for an additional two years 

6.m. Additional Emergency Day for Vaccine Reactions
Rationale

The federal government granted COVID-19 days for employees. These expired December 31, 2020. The Board approved additional COVID-19 days for employees who test positive for COVID-19 or are quarantined due to COVID-19. 

Some employees experienced adverse reactions after the second COVID-19 vaccination and took sick days because they were unable to work.

The District is requesting one Emergency Day for all employees that can be used by employees were unable to come to work after receiving their second COVID-19 vaccination. This would be retroactive for those who took sick days last week due to the second COVID-19 vaccination.
