11. New Business
11.a. Please consider the Winter Guard's request to raise additional fees for their program.
Rationale

The RHS Winter Guard is looking to raise our fees this year from $150 to $250 due to the growing costs of our activity, using more resources, and increased competitiveness.

Last year the RHS Winter Guard won a multi-state circuit. In winter guard, to be competitive, most groups have customized uniforms, flags, and a tarp that is designed to fit the theme of their show and use designers who help create the show and bring it to life. The costs of these things inflate every year due to increased demand and inflation. Also, due to being promoted twice last season, we are now in the same classification made up of mostly 5A schools throughout Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana such as Lafayette, Ryle, and Madison Central. To still be competitive with this increased level of competition, we are looking to raise our fees so that we can look like our competitors.

Here is a breakdown of our season expenses that use the guard account:
Flags- $1,000
Tarp- $3,000
Design- $2,000

We have 11 members so if the fees are $250 that will yield $2,750. Combined with our fundraisers, this raise in fees will help alleviate the costs that we have to cover this season.
