Budget/Finance
4.1.
SBDM Funds
There is approximately $12,000 remaining in the SBDM budget at this time. Copier rental continues to come out of the funds monthly.
4.2.
District Activity Funds
There is approximately $10,000 currently in the school district activity funds. Picture money from the spring came in.
4.3.
Title I Funds
Sabrina McElroy will be at a meeting to discuss title 1 funds and the amount available to spend.

New Business
5.1.
Safety Audit
The safety audit was conducted on August 28th. It went well overall. Some areas of concern included:
- No full time SRO
- Teachers huddled on the playground
- Confusion about the STOP tip line
- Request for a door to get in faster from the playground
- Items need to be lowered on shelves. At least 18 inches below the ceiling
- No scented plugins. Air fresheners must be battery powered
- Appliances must be plugged in to wall outlets. No extension cords.
State safety officer came today for an unannounced visit. It went well. No reasons for a return visit this year.
5.2.
Grandparents Day (September 5 Event)
Over 100 students attended grandparents day. Each had between 2 and 5 adults with them. It went well. Students took a picture with their families, made a frame for the picture, got a snack, listened to book in the auditorium and will receive a copy of the book when they all come in.
5.3.
High attendance day (September 12, 2024)
Attendance day is this week. A fun outside day has been planned with activities and treats.
5.4.
Lexington Children's Theater (September 10, 2024)
The Lexington Children's Theater will be here tomorrow. They will do two performances of Winnie the Pooh. One will be for Pre-K and the other for 1-2.

Curriculum/Academics
6.1.
MAP Benchmarking Assessment 2nd Grade Results
2nd grade completed the MAP benchmark assessment. 45% of students scored proficient/distinguished in reading and 55% scored proficient/distinguished in Math.
6.2.
Acadience Benchmarking Results
Scores show the school is at a better starting point than last year. With that said, we are only close to half of our students being considered on grade level. Several ideas to improve these scores are being put into motion, including small groups, in school tutoring and after school tutoring.

Policy/Policy Review
7.1.
Pick-up and Drop Off Policy (Review Procedures to Develop Policy)
The council looked at a draft for the policy and discussed changes that would make it better. A revision will be presented at the next meeting and a second reading will occur. Policy will be passed if no other revisions are needed.
8.
CSIP
Phase 1 is due to be completed by October 1st. It includes the safety report, continuous improvement diagnostic, and executive summary.

Redbook training is September 23rd from 4:00-5:00
